Kudos for owning up to your ‘mistakes’ and providing a teachable moment. Of course, personally, I’ve never done anything like that😆 Hopefully the NiSi folks will take the hint and provide an attachment point for a string. I do have the Q20ii flash and it’s the perfect size for the GR. And thanks for providing me a kick in the rear - I need to get my GRiii out and start shooting with it daily.

Thought I would give the premiere function a go since people seem to have the most questions just after publishing and Im usually asleep or at work when it happens. EDIT: I was going to hang in the chat for at least one hour but it closes automatically so I will monitor regular comments for the same amount of time.

You are 1 of my inspirations for not getting caught up with always wanting the latest camera. I now have my eyes on the Panasonic x85. Choosing a camera for its handling seem to be more important than any new spec.

Looks like a great filter system. I've not done much filter work with my GRii but when I did, I blue tac ed on some nd filters from a dslr lens and that did the trick.

Nice to see it working out great for you. I was thinking of saving up for a Ricoh GRIII as a companion piece to go with my Nikon D3500 for when it is too bulky to carry around. Seems like a very good camera for that purpose.

Loved the filter story....have looked at the flash before - for the wireless function! Fast forward 6 months and I bought the flash but haven’t used it enough.

I appreciate the remarks about"you must be thinking..." And honestly, I wish everyone else who creates a simulator video would do the same... You brought a lot of good points to surface - sorta speak. I think the only issue I'd have with the external filter holder would be eventual wearing on the lens barrel and thus causing the snug fit to eventually become "worn out" sorta speak AND then see your filters and holder plunge into the abyss!

"Scenarios" of that imaginary young handsome photographer are simply hilarious. Hope the Nisi sets were not too expensive. At least HE didn't lose and then crack the same filter(s), and got to keep a complete set (plus an extra case for other knickknacks). Love the Q20. Small, but not as small (and readily at hand) as a built-in flash. Would accept a bit more bulk to have the flash back on the GR4.

I bought the Coolpix A when it first came out. At some point I realized it is the camera I have used the most. This is a camera that you really have to read the manual and play with the setting to setup properly to get the most out of it. Overall though I live the little lens and the quality I get with RAW images. Honestly the 16MP is more than enough.

I don't know about amazing, I usually photograph calm waters where long exposures and tripods aren't needed. This has been a bit new to me :)

I had a good laugh at that. I'm excited to get hold of the flashq triggers for my Fujifilm XE1. A great way to get a whole lot more creativity out of an old camera and flash without a lot of money or weight. These leaf-shutter cameras are very appealing for that reason, but I actually want the flash for use with short telephotos anyway. Always compromises.

I'm interested in this camera and when I was in Japan I viewed a display model and it was very light and it didn't seem durable. Is it possible that it was a dummy camera? Do you feel that this camera is robust? I'd like heavier cameras. Thank you

Hi Mattias, as It's been a year since the last comment I'll update too. I hardly used my Flash Q trans/rec's, then a month or so ago I lost them on a motorcycle trip with friends, :-( , so now thinking of the Q20II flash. I recall you really liked the Pentax KP, I am a Pentax shooter also. I recently bought a KP A$650 used, and am using it with my DA Ltd lens's. I am using my NISI filter kit, made for my x100F, as they have the same filter thread, with the Ltd lens's. Thanks again for your content. Cya Simon.

You can get a nisi filter holder that fits like the lens converter so the filters won't pop off, comes in the master kit with a replacement silver ring. The adaptor has a 49mm thread so you could put another ND on or a circular polariser if you wanted to use ND plus grad and if you don't mind the possibility virginity then you could screw two filters on gobe filters are a good option...I obviously don't mean virginity

Not truly convinced by the design of this Nisi mount, based on your review 😂. With the GRIII i'm using the following combo: GA-1 adpatator + HOYA filters DFK49 II (UV,PLC,ND) and well a Sony 49mm ALCF49S cap. Not so pockable anymore but I hope it will limit dust and I have a set of useful filters in hand 🤞.

I use a Lens Filter Adapter which replaces the lens bezel. Ricoh make an expensive version and companies like Haoge and JJC make cheap ones (20 quid-ish in UK). It's a 49mm threaded extension adapter for screw in filters...that don't fall off when the camera goes to sleep! 🙂

No, it works as advertised, I like it and will keep it. They make one that would'n' fall off but I prefer this one. Because its much quicker to use.

Since you mentioned the Nikon Coolpix A, I thought you may be interested in a combination that I use on mine. There is an older Coolpix Wide Converter lens called the WC-E68. That will fit on the UR-E24 filter holder for the Coolpix A. The combination gives you the equivalent of an 18mm (full frame) lens. It’s almost like the parts were made for each other.

Looking at picking up a GR iii. How is the lcd in bright sun? I don’t shoot street photography, however I taught it would be a great camera to taking hiking and kayaking trips…. Is the GR iii weather sealed?

Mattis, I know you have shot with the Lumix LX 100 . That camera's lens is subject to flare when shooting toward the sun. Would a polarizing filter eliminate the flare., and will the filter system you are describing here work on the LX 100 if so?
