Dear Mr. ellaskins, I would like to extend my deepest "THANK YOU" to you for creating, and subsequently sharing the "Ride the pitch" video series on the world wide web for any young aspiring disk jockey to learn how to tame the beats. Thanks you once again, Mr. ellaskins! Your mastery of the craft has been a real inspiration to me in my endeavors to achieving perfection! Sincerely, Kalin G.

The only thing I am having problems with pitch riding right now is determining by sound, which record is too slow or fast. Kinda sucks when you move the pitch in the wrong direction once the beats start decoupling. I can usually keep the beats in alignment for 30 seconds or so, but not long enough for what I am mixing. Anyway, this is the most frustrating part of beat matching for me.

@baalpeteor Beatmatching isnt really easy because people learn things at a different pace. Some may take hours, months or even weeks to get it right. Deejaying is a hands on thing, the only way it can become easy is by practising alot. As the old saying goes practice makes perfect.

First i thought it was waterman by olav basoski, because that has also been released on positiva records. Therefore it has got the same case (that blue/black/white cross on the left). :) keep it up jonathan!

to marioc81, to be honest bpm counters are only as good as the person that uses them!you will always need to use your ears
@acidbubblebath773 жыл бұрын
I tried a BPM counter during the first few months of practice. That thing is useless and don't need it anymore anyways. The only hard part for me is determining which record is going too fast or slow when I can tell that the beats are beginning to decouple.

@KushPizzaSleep You mean why is Ellaskins cocking his head when mixing? He likely has a lollipop headphone (ie a mono headphone) wedged under his ear. One ear listening to the 'pop the other, out listening to the master on the speakers - split cueing
@acidbubblebath773 жыл бұрын
I didn't know they still make those unless it is an older one.

so is he looking at the beat level on the mixer? or listening to the monitors carefully

Isn't it really difficult to match two songs with different tempos? 'Cause you have to adjust the speed
@jordan007616 жыл бұрын
You have to touch the record sometime tho say when i am playing in a club record deck aint always next to the mixer (out of arms reach)then you got bass, mid to worry about need 4 arms somtimes and extentions.. like the vid tho teaches the basics. trying to learn more advanced techniques like 3 deck mixing ect Check out my vids see what you think.. Type in dj jordan king always willing to learn! keep up the good work!:)
