Ellaskins, your "Riding the pitch" videos taught me how to mix when I was a young buck with a pair of 1200s and a handful of records. For this, I cannot express my appreciation to you ... please accept my million "THANKS" ... thank you, thank you for showing me how to keep my fingers on the pitch! Благодаря ти адски много, батко! Да си жив и здрав!

try getting two of the same song, one on each deck, then match one into the other, when they are in time they will make just the one song, rather than the clashing of two songs. this helps to get your head around beatmatching.

With the sl1200 mk 2 you find that close to the green light there is not much change in the speed of the turntable/pitch, so yes it is the same.

@lonel99 Sometimes records twice or half etc the tempo of the other record can sometimes mix but generally yeah, you need the same BPM

if i play a hip hop song on one side, and a ballard on the other, will they groove? i mean the drum beats are like totally different. I'm very amateur at these and i'm having a big time making the sounds sync.

to lonel99, you need to make sure the bpm, beats per min are the same! j
@wutdafnkk12 жыл бұрын
prbly the most important thing is to 1) have records at same within +-1/2 bpm or 2) know what the bpm differences are before hand... then beatmatching is alot easier especially this riding the pitch shit

Yeah, get vinyl decks and learn how to phrase mix. BPM counters are effectively useless in the real world. The sooner you understand that and remove the need for being dependent on them (by not having them there in the first place) the faster you will learn where to start your "mix in" record and keep it in time.
@battlestarvfx12 жыл бұрын
No it isn't. BPM Counters are completely useless. In my experience when teaching people to DJ (on vinyl because digital djing is for loosers who need BPM counters) BPM counters only confuse them because they get locked into the idea that just because the BPM is the same means that a track should be "mixed" at that point. There is no substitute for learning how to properly cue, release and transition on proper count phrases.
