You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzfaq.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. kzfaq.infoUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.

i got an r4512 as a present about a year ago. overall I'd say the performance has been worth the price. out of the box the blade was dead lined up with the miter slots, but i had to shim the front trunions .090" to align the blade for miter cuts. 6 months ago i added a 2hp rigid router table based on the plans in the owners manual and have noticed the rails are starting to sag, i figure I'll just have to add some diagonal supports or tubing under the rails to stiffen them up.

If I own a n older rigid table saw, the one with the plastic knobs for blade and tilting actions, can I get a new tilting knob as mine broke due to the fact that it is made out of plastic? I do like my table saw. Fence is excellent and tracks really nice...... Brad

The portable table saw has and adjustable table width. and tape measure. However mine is more that two inches off. How do I align the width measure to the saw blade and have the fence reading be accurate.

yeah i know what you mean.unplugging the saw is definitely a good idea. but why remove the key?
@stewiecasserole12
@stewiecasserole12 5 жыл бұрын
@@charlesholland6851 Removing a key means if you walk away from the tool for any reason and someone comes in behind you they can't start the tool by simply plugging it in and turning it on. The tool may not be safe to use so by removing the key in addition to unplugging it you're possibly saving a workmate's life or digits if you leave during a repair to get parts or go to the bathroom. Do you have to do it? Of course not...you don't even have to unplug it if you don't want to. Your saw...your rules.

***** I have the same problem when I try to remove/put in the riving knife. The lever that secures the knife is almost impossible to push down by hand with the riving knife in it,. I didn't have this problem when I first purchased the table saw. What is causing this?

My old Ridgid Table Saw is 10 times better than the new saws. If you get a new one without the belt drive, you got troubles. The very first time the saw bogs down the cheap motor will burn out, then you must take it to an authorized repair shop where you will wait for months for parts from somewhere in China. The guy running the closest repair shop told me he has three saws all waiting for parts for over two months. He told me; “unless you want to send my kids through college, get a saw with a belt drive” Virtually all contractor saws are the same thing. I also have a new Bosch contractor saw. When I turn it on the saw nearly leaps from the floor, it’s as loud as a jet engine and nearly impossible to make an accurate cut. The blade deflects so much that my new zero clearance insert looks like a regular insert. If I have to replace my old saw, I’ll buy an old belt drive Delta or Craftsman off Craig’s list. It’s really sad, but the table saws available for purchase (new) these days are all junk.

I purchased a new R4512 in September of 2013 and It's a tool for the wonderful for the price. My fence lines up perfectly. I can run a 1/2 inch dado stack easily. Very little vibration and I love the fact that I can move it around so easily to make it practical in my small garage shop. It's great when it works. I saw some reviews of the 4512 that said there were some problems so I called Ridgid before I purchased the saw. I was told that those problems had been resolved and that any saw I purchased should be fine. I had to have the trunnion screw holes machined so I could get it to align and get a straight cut. The Run capacitor burned out and I can't get a replacement part from Home Depot. Now the motor doesn't want to start and the start capacitor checks out fine so that means there is something wrong with the motor. The cost short cuts end up making it not worth the money. Not to mention the horrid policy of "you have to bring it in" to the Home Depot repair station. Really? Pack up a fully assembled table Saw and bring it in? They'll deliver, they'll install, but they won't support their products when it might mean an expense. I wasn't worried about the life time warranty thinking that Home Depot would surely support their products for more than 90 days when the first problems happen. Even if they didn't I would even be happy to pay for some service, however, they and Ridgid can't even get me a simple replacement capacitor that I'm willing to pay for without having the life time registration. Then when I try to get it registered two weeks after the 90 days just so I can get parts I get ignored by Ridgid online support. Now I have a nice R4512 assembly table and will spend the extra $400 to purchase a competitor's saw. This is the only negative feedback I've ever posted and hope that it will be the only one I ever have to. Believe the bad reviews. There might be some good ones out there, but spending nearly $600 to play tool Russian Roulette isn't my idea of a good bargain. I will never purchase another Ridgid product.

Ridgid service just made it clear that I'm not going to get my saw fixed on warranty even though the warranty is for three years. The reason is in this quote from Ridgid customer service in an email: "Also if they knew that you had performed any repairs like what you have described so far they would have voided the warranty right then I would say you would need to put the parts back in and then we can cover it. But you do not have the part anymore so I would not be able to get that covered under warranty because of that." I had to replace a capacitor on the motor because Home Depot said it was past the 90 day warranty and I didn't have the lifetime service agreement approved. The manager at Home Depot also approved getting the trunnion machined. If you want good customer service, a great warranty, and free shipping of parts call Sawstop. I had a great conversation with the reps over there and they have and plenty of converts for just this reason. Take note of all the apologies in these comments and on the forums by Ridgid reps. They are there for a reason. This is not a company you want to get tangled up with.

After looking at the new Delta now being sold at local Lowe's I think Rigid and the other companies will need to step up their game. The Delta saw is far beyond anything else at the big box stores. It even has a Biesemeyer style fence.

Andrew Finnell Andrew, I really wanted the Ridgid to work out for me. There are some really good things about the saw and the price for a bigger decked saw is great. But the fence is a pain and deflects up to a quarter inch if you don't push it straight before you lock it. I have the same splitter lock handle problem mentioned in earlier comments. The motor problem and not honoring the warranty because I had to use my saw and replaced the run capacitor is inexcusable. On any of the manufacturers you might want to call and see what their repair policy is before you buy it. See if the local dealer has at least a motor available. If they don't you may be stuck taking it in to a big box repair center just to have them hold it there for weeks while a motor comes in. The problem is that none of us expect to make a $500 to $1500 purchase and have it fail that soon. If it failed after a few years we might just shrug and use it as an excuse to get a new one. I looked at the Delta and it looked like a great saw. All the best to you.

Gail Long I am trying to decide against the Delta at Lowes. Leaning to Delta. Does not have the issues with fence seems to be somewhat a little better. this looks like a real good saw

Frank Rodriguez Even though I haven't used one of the new Delta saws I've read that it has a better fence set up and it has no history of problems with the trunions or the mounting screws like many people have had with the Ridgid. Neither is a bad saw for the price, but I've had so many problems with the Ridgid that I'm about ready to put it out on the curb. Grizzly makes a very nice saw for a little bit more money. If you can go with one of those you'll stay under $800.00 but get a much better saw. The fence and the top on the Grizzly are spot on. You won't regret the little extra cash. Always do your research. Ask to use one of the saws ore see if the manufacture has a floor model you can try or a customer who will let you try theirs. If you get a fair mix of good and bad consider it a bad purchase. You know you have a good one when you only hear one or two complaints out of dozens of good reviews.
