At some point in time you may have the need to change the blade on your table saw. Maybe the blade needs to be replaced or you need to install a blade with a different tooth count. Whatever the reason, if you follow a few steps changing the blade on your table saw can be relatively easy. I am using a RIDGID R4516 in this example. However, the process is basically the same for most table saws. So, let's take a look. I hope you find this video useful. If so, please press like and share with your friends. I'll be coming out with more videos soon so be sure to subscribe. Thanks for watching and good luck on your projects.

It’s not as easy as it looks. I had to do it a bit differently. My blade was on really tight and the wrench on the inside that was supposed to keep the blade in place kept slipping as if it were stripped. I ended up using it by putting it into the teeth of the blade to keep it from sticking and that’s when I was able to yet the unstuck and remove the blade. In addition, After getting the night off I had to tap on the blade with a hammer as I moved it in circles until it would loosen up from its position and Ashley be able to remove it. Just an extra tip from my reality :-)

What did you lubricate the threads with when you removed the blade? I just removed and installed mine today and didn't lube it! WD-40? Blade Oil? let me know please, thanks.

I’m shopping for a Ridgid pre owned saw. If the owner has lost the wrenches is that a big deal? Will any quality wrench’s suffice? Thanks
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Larry, good question. The wrenches are very thin so that they fit between the blade and the housing. Not sure a regular set would fit into a space that tight.

@@WorkMateGuy I just checked out the online owners manual on the one I’m about to buy. It’s a little used saw, elderly man owned. It’s circa 2009. He can’t remember seeing any wrenches. The manual does not list any wrenches as even coming with the saw. He’s never even changed the blade from new he says. Rock solid saw so it won’t likely need special wrenches. Thanks for your reply

What if the nut is too tight to loosen? We have been using this saw at least 200-300 hours and I think it's time for a new blade but the tool is stripped so it doesn't fit I n there snugly
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 5 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Schutz I would try some WD40 and let it sit for a couple of hours and of course a new wrench would be very helpful. Sometimes very gently tapping the tool many times while on the nut will help. But, be careful. Thanks for stopping by and let me know how it goes.

@@WorkMateGuy I layed a wrench across the table so the teeth of the blade would grab it and stop the blade from turning.

How do you remove an arbor nut that is rounded and very very stuck?
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 2 жыл бұрын
Liberal application of WD40, gentle tap-tap-tap with a small chisel or punch attempting to push the nut in a direction to loosen it... and a good set of channel lock plyers. I hope this helps.
@robertmiddleton4421
@robertmiddleton4421 2 жыл бұрын
@@WorkMateGuy Thanks. I have a smaller channel lock plyers. Going to see if Autozone loans out the large pair. I have got that nut REALLY rounded from previous attempts. Maybe I'll do my first KZfaq video if I can actually get this thing off as I haven't found one that actually goes through this. They go through really tight arbor nuts... but never like this. And, I am sure that there are a LOT of people that are going through what I am going through. I'll let you know if successful.

Why did you CHANGE perspectives (camera position in relation to saw) @ 2:36 - @ 2:38 ....it will MINIMIZE CONFUSION if you maintain the same position...or at least tell us so we don't need to manage the thought process!

You should not say "I am pulling the blade towards the front or rear of the saw", too open to interpretation, better stick with "clockwise/counter clockwise" just a suggestion.

He stated while explaining which sides each wrench is for that he is facing the front of the table saw on the side with the power button.
