100% agree with you about stability on decends, I also own a SQ3, full SLX and 4 piston brakes also SLX and it is an amazing bike, little bit slow uphill with Maxxis Minion´s, but really enjoyable going down... I was wondering if I upgrade the fork to a 150mm, I was looking for marzocchi z1, rockshox Lyrick or fox 36, im going to look for SR Sountour also... any recomendations?

Right on! I'm running the SR suntour durolux36 boost EQ and it's really tuned in and feels great on the bike! Mine is currently set to 140mm but 150mm would be pretty sweet on the bike as well.

Between this and Growler 20 (current out of box factory spec), which one would you recommend that is good for a moderate trails with up and downs? Also, would you recommend 29 or 27.5 on L frame for any of these bikes?
@MarkMatthewsMTB2 жыл бұрын
I am not familiar with the Growler but the SQ is the best is performing best on the downhills while still being pretty solid at climbing is a priority. I personally prefer 27.5 because I'm shorter and like to jump and whip the bike around lots, but a 29er will roll a bit faster. There's a ton of personal preference to factor in. I would try testing both bikes first if that's possible for you.

Hey Mark Matthews - would you say that a dual suspension bike will make my riding better or would it just ride softer? I am thinking of ( after I finish the dirt jumper...) maybe buying a enduro/trail dual suspension frame that I can change my trek roscoe's parts for different types of rides...? Because I can't afford an all round dual suspension bike... I have actually tried entering a few giveaways...😁🙂😅Sorry for all the questions... I will stay quiet for a while...

@@TimFromWales ok so an XL for me might be a bit big. It's such a pain not being able to find local shops that sell Marin. According to Marin's website at 5'9" you should be at the top end of a large frame, but as you sized down I might do the same.
@MarkMatthewsMTB3 жыл бұрын
They have a long reach for their size so I would probably stick with a L, but it depends in your riding style as well. An XL frame might get a little tall.

How great this is...mtb world needs more mark mathews. I can't stop thinking getting rid of my full sus. and get the sq frame. How much travel with the fork?

130mm

I'd want a hardtail for hitting those jumps (to limit the bucking and vagueness) but a downhill bike for landing them (to limit knee strain and consequences). You're crazy.
@MarkMatthewsMTB3 жыл бұрын
haha for sure! I can compress into the lip more for maximum pop on a full suspension though, especially on the big step up hip. I think because it has such a long, gradual take off.

@@MarkMatthewsMTB Thank you very much. If this means anything... I always watch your video before I go out and ride. It pumps me up see that you and I almost have the identical bike. You show me and the rest of the people here what's possible. Many thanks!

@@MarkMatthewsMTB you think that’s enough? Ever feel like you’d want more?
@MarkMatthewsMTB3 жыл бұрын
@@Balanceboarddesigns is that your only bike? If so go up to 140. I kinda like the nimbleness of the lower front end and I don't ride this bike on super gnarly stuff. That's what my Alpine trail is for.
@shaquilleoatmeal26543 жыл бұрын
yep this bike is amazing I have a large and the frame is actually kinda small for a large but I get plenty of reach and my seat can reach my butt it's nice on jumps it's great.
@MarkMatthewsMTB3 жыл бұрын
Yea I find they are nice and low with a longer reach which is good and aggressive. Thanks for leaving a comment!
