I know what you mean Itchy. At 72 most of the guys I've rode with since the early 80s have passed on or don't ride for health reasons. I'm still riding and will until the Good Lord says no. I enjoy long solo rides. Live in so cal but have ridden east of the Mississippi 5 times since 2018!

belonged in a club for about 5yrs. Just got old after awhile. I dropped out. rode with a few riding buddies, same thing that got old. always one showing up late. always another that whined all day. I ride alone now. alot easier and alot less drama.

I'm a lone wolf, not by choice. None of my friends ride, so I'm left riding by myself. It would be nice if someone would ride with me, but I've always ride alone. My wife is disabled so... I don't have any patches, I do wear a orange t-shirt on my white bike so people can see me. I figured since I ride by myself it's probably the safest to be seen.

Me and my 2 oldest friend all ride,but they live 2 hours away, and we seldom hook up. The story yiu told at the beginning really hit home.

My total respect to you and Ms. V for doing that run for the fallen soldiers. I dont ride with other folks much, however I would have been on that run come hell or high water!

I ONLY wear my “Wild Hogs” club patches when I ride!!! 😂😂 Seriously though, the wife, and I usually just ride by ourselves. Riding with a group is ok once in a while, but you’re always trying to decide where everyone wants to go, when everyone wants stop, where everyone wants to stop, how long everyone wants to stay wherever you go, etc. It’s a lot easier by yourself, or just another couple.

I was out riding today. It was mid 60's in Nashville. Went and got some BBQ after church. It was nice. Old girl didn't want to start but I choked it and finally she went. I don't think advertising anything about you is a good idea as a rider. People like to put on like they are tough or something. Me not so much. Maybe a "Real bikers love Jesus" shirt. My leather has a full back patch that took a few years to find the one that fit me. It's a patch to remember the POW/MIA and under it to each side is one about Women Veterans. My vest/cut as they say these days is all about Veterans. I am a disable Veteran they say and there's days I feel it. My trike has a horn that plays God Bless America that may make a few people mad but if they don't like it oh well. I too have gotten bigger these days as I am 67 now and still trying to figure how I lived this long. I be on the road for around a month come spring. But this year I am getting a toy hauler and just setting it up as a base camp in different states. Then go hit the back two lane roads to see what's there. If the young man who has worked for me here and there works out for the month and enjoys living out here then I am hoping he stays this winter and I go South. Keep safe prayers for you both. As an older rider (67), I ride alone most of the time. Granted, I'm in Alaska and go to Sturgis every year. The long lonely rode sure clears your head. By the time I get their, I'm good with calm riders their!

You keep bringing back memories. Rode with two guys in our squadron at Vandenberg AFB, CA. My Triumph days. One guy had Honda 350 , thing was rolling wreck. Other Crazy Keven rode 350. Extended forks, apes and struts on rear in place of shocks. Slipped out from under him crossing a small stream . Tore most all ligaments in knee, found out later. Propped his leg up highway peg. Rode non stop back to his place, blew thru all lights, stop signs.. USAF docs said lucky did not bleed out internally & pass out with all damage. Dont know where those guys are now, one went to Nam, story ends there. MY lone rides are more enjoyable with my Marie on back. Monitoring speedo. Ride safe.

I've always been told if you're not affiliated with a club, there's no need to announce it to the world by wearing a patch stating it. It's kind of like saying "hey, I'm part of something without being part of something" kind of a double negative if you ask me. Just stay away from diamond patches and rockers with a territory displayed on your back.

My vest honors my military service it has a top rocker 'Fleetsailor' in an oval circle under that are the 6 ships I served on. The bottom rocker I wanted to say 'The 7 seas', but I have been in 16 so that's not going to work. It is the thing I am most proud of. Rode my '75' KZ400 from Tacoma, WA to D.C. down to Miami and back to San Diego in 1977. Traded it in on a KZ1000, in on a 83 FXSB, rode that until it broke for the last time. 2014 got a new FLHR. Been a lone rider until 2011, its good to have a partner along. I don't know if I am a biker, but I believe I'll own a bike until shortly before I die.

That's the way to ride Ichy, was 65 when I got my license.

Some need company, some are comfortable alone. Just enjoy the ride. Too many rules ruin the fun.

Having a family member that was a POW in Vietnam I for a while joined ROLLING THUNDER. Thank You for your time! I still ride on missions with Rolling Thunder and the Patriot Guard Riders. My leathers are tan, not so I stand out, but because I think it's stupid to wear black in the hot summer sun!!! In my 40plus years of riding I have found bikers are friendly easy going people. Why then does the "lone wolf" have to have a snarling wolf on their patch? Are these angry people that are itching for a fight? Been snowing a lot here. Went to take the cover off of my bike this afternoon for a ride, but my wife warned/asked me not to because my kids are up to something. I think I'm looking forward to a new paint job on my bike as a "belated process" birthday present! Why advertise for attention -- alone? I guess, I don't understand that. "Look, Mom, I'm riding by myself!" Now, trouble finding someone simply for riding alone is something totally different. Intimidation of independents, just because, doesn't seem very couthe to me; but I doubt that it's really a thing in organized circles. Still going to enjoy my freedom; and I'm proud to be free! It was always just my wife and I riding together her on her bike and me on mine for many years before we hooked up with the CMA. So we never did any group riding before CMA. Now every since the wreck I can't do any long group rides. If there's any big outing they let us know and if I'm up to it we'll meet everyone there... This past year I put less that 100 miles on my bike. I wanted to put more miles on but my body said NO!!!

It's warming for me. (Alaska) up to 42 during the day but still freezing at night. It's a mess!

I like riding solo alot. Sometimes i like having a wingman or enjoy being a wingman. I just wear plain black leather or my darian jacket and pants with no markings. Good interesting infor. Bob.

My Younger Brother and I had a buddy we grew up with and we 3 also spent many hrs.riding together,We lost him a few years back and my brother can't ride like he used to because of Back and Neck issues. So these days it's usually me alone unless the wife feels like coming which is less these days also. Like you I just don't enjoy Runs anymore...I feel like I'm on alert the entire time riding with strangers. But I will keep throwing my leg over the Scooter as long as I'm able to throw my leg over the Scooter! 🤣As always give V our best.

I've been invited too club houses, but I never join a club. I don't drink much an that was one of their interest! An you mentioned riding fast! I was invited too ride with you an the "Traveling Wall" in Washington State! I went to Children's Hospital in Portland. I went up stairs too visit kids, walked into room with 2 parents of little girl, with no arms or legs, sitting in a bag on her father's lap! I spent almost an hour with them, hugged little with my face. When I left room a biker snapped two rolls of red/white/blue beeds, saying,"I make an give these out only too bikers that go extra mile up here with the kids! This year I only gave these too biker that could endure that room! All lasted only 3 minutes, you lasted half hour! As he's pinning the string of color on my vest! I still have them today, an every ride is donated too that little girl an others like her!

I am am Lobo. I ride alone. Epic trip to Quebec city from PA via CT, RI, and VT. Return via Maine. 25 degrees F to over 80 degrees F. Eight day trip, I think. Both CA and USA customs/Immigration took me for an outlaw biker wanting to smuggle drugs. I was clean shaven and narry a tattoo. Normal hair. Not long. It was the beautiful black leather pants and jacket, no doubt. I hate border crossing.

I'am almost 66 years old and still like to ride with my club brothers. It's more fun together. 😁

It's never to late to make a few more casual riding buddies, I got the sense you kinda miss that experience, but I 100% agree, the "lone wolf" rocker is generally frowned upon, I don't care personally, but as you said you might put yourself out there, and some "hardcore" bikers might mess with you or may get the idea you think you're better than the rest. I use to hang out with 1%er and they actually where nice and the one actually liked my bike even tho it was just a Honda rebel, I don’t have a real bike haha, but they warned me not to have any patches or Territory patches like where you’re from, cause they said you better be willing to defend your territory, I just got my worn leather

I received a recommendation to your channel yesterday & have been watching videos. Your wife eloquently describes bikers in the video 'why ladies love bikers ' What I ascribe to is this, " that's my lifestyle, I'm a biker." I LIVE THE LIFESTYLE. Over the decades it hasn't changed much except new tshirt designs and motorcycle models. I don't know when or who decided that only certain people are bikers? What is a biker then? A motorcycle rider? A bicycle rider? A motorcycle rider with a patched vest? Noone under 70 years old is a biker? Ok, I'll be honest. I've accused what we call Weekend Warriors as NOT real bikers. Lol. I'll be 64 years old in August. Had my first bike at age 11 (1969)- a Chibi, a mini bike from China with a Briggs and Stratton 58cc 2 stroke, 3 speed. Bright orange. My next bike 2 years later at age 13 was a 125cc Harley Davidson Rapido, 2 stroke. I've been riding ever since, mostly Harleys. ( I do have a 189cc Enduro and a 250cc dual purpose) along with an all original 1996 Dyna Glide Convertible & a 2007 Ultra Classic. Let me go back to age 11 before I had the Chibi. A college guy down the block had a Honda Scrambler 350. One day I asked him to take me for a ride. Back then things were different as there wasn't much noise pollution & I had excellent hearing. We rode around town and I could clearly hear that thumping engine what seemed like a roaring Harleyby today's standards. We rode fast ! I was hooked AND riding motorcycles became my lifestyle. It's my identity, I live it and I breath it. In today's WOKE world people say they identify as this or identify as that. On point and in most cases these modern misfits identify as something they truly aren't and scientifically can't be. I identify as a biker.........to use 'their' modern term. True in 1969 right through to today. I'm also a veteran, honorably discharged who flips feom time to time from biker to veteran GARB. OH YEAH, I speak both languages, biker and veteran. Anyway since I received those shots in January, I've been riding my 96 Dyna Glide Convertible in 20's degree weather cuz............ I could again after almost a year off. TO THE CORE ! I agree. No need to broadcast with a huge patch. It's difficult enough without a large patch. I believe I shared the story before; myself getting confronted because of the color of my bandana. If patched members get that bent out of shape over a colored bandana, I shudder to think how they present themselves to the 'Lone Wolf-No Club' individuals.

Lone Wolf is a regestered 1% outlaw club. I would not advise anyone to put a rocker on your back if you are not a 1% club member. Or a Diamond or a front rocker.. Patches just make you look like wannabes.

I just started riding alone at 57 yrs old ,I ride a 2001 road king classic .I just got tired of all the bullshit .I know in certain circles the lone wolf patches especially with rockers might get your ass kicked.ive got a old cut hanging in my garage like yours full of patches and pins ,my don't fit either.

I would never ride around with a T-shirt or a vest that advertizes the Lone Wolf status. Your average hardcore MC member could take that as a message that says "I'm better than than any MC club", and that could appear to be condescending, which could attract a threatening confrontation from an MC member.

Great that u brought that up, so today Sunday morning here in Mexico Im sitting at the only watering hole with my shiny Black Bar Hopper reminiscing about the old days I'm in shorts and a black T shirt, and listning to some of the other old new gringoes talking about nothing, like how much for the peso? And what they ate, and then politics and giving themselves border promotions, so I'm thinking, I think I better go to my hood and sit in my garage with my toys and dog, and drink beer, before I go nuts listning to those drunken tourists , so guess what? down the street I see about a 50 HDs driving by heading for the point, I live on a Peninsula, so I down my beer and head for the Malecon( its a huge walkway) out on the ocean, so the length of the Malecon is all Harleys parked and they are a club from my nearest Port city Manzanillo, so I park and right away they all come over and introduce themselves, they made me get into the group pictures drink beer, and they all heard of me or knew people I know down here, it made my day, Like I said before Im lonely for the old days, so thank u for bringing it up, I had to tell someone of my great day,

I am not in a club. But I know those that are and I will not ride with someone who wears a lone wolf patch. Some people consider that patch an insult and my be inclined to remove it. I think your just putting yourself out there to cause trouble. I don’t want non of that. I have a Harley patch. No rockers and fir sure no claim to any territory

50s today, bro. Almost time to ride again! Man, I broke my ankle at work last year. I call my boss and tell him. We get back to the shop and my boss says take the van to the hospital, I said na I rode my bike in ima ride it home lol. I rode it 20 miles home with a broken ankle. I made it but it was hell. I got to my house hopped inside to get a drink of water and grab my car keys to my car. Hopped back outside and to my car. Went to the hospital and got it taken care of. Put me n a cast. They gave me a boot to put over the cast so I could walk. Told me to take off work for a few weeks, I took 4 days off and was right back out there. Hurt a lot but I can't afford to stay home n miss out on that cash. Had a few bikers tell me it was kool for them to see a fked up foot didn't keep me from riding.

If I were a 1%er Id beat the shit out of these lone wolf 3 piece copycats. If they can’t mimic the risk and sacrifice of being an outlaw then they cant mimic a 3 piece patch. All of that “Ill do whatever I want” attitude should be corrected.
