Every time I watch one of these videos it makes me yearn to be in Japan. A friend of mine got me a Bokksu Box for my birthday, along with the special Sakura themed one. It was so much fun to open and see everything that was inside. It was a nice selection of both sweet and savory. It's been almost a month now and there's still items I have yet to try.

So relaxing to share this train ride journey with you. l must say, that, looking at the way the Japanese organise their lifestyle and day-to-day activities, only leaves behind the impression that this society, its communities and the country stand heads and shoulders above other industrialised modern economies and democracies. When people buy the fancy ekibens, do they generally keep the boxes? Some of them seem to be disposable paper and plastic, but a lot of them seem to be made of wood or other materials that seem too nice to just throw away.

I think If I was in Japan for any longer length of time I would be inclined to take the Hinotori. Because red is my favourite colour and it was a beautiful, quiet train. Also the scenery. If I was only there for a few days though, I'd take the Shinkansen for the speed so I could visit more places and see more sights. Shinkansen would be great for covering lots of ground in a short time.
