As a pretty new rider myself I really enjoy your approach to this experience. You have a great cautiously optimistic mentality about it all that’s very cool. One of the (many) things I picked up early on from MotoJitsu was the safety advice he offered on trailing behind vehicles. He recommends never stopping directly behind them. Instead he says to always pick a spot just outside either bumper. So if the cager behind you gets distracted, they won’t crush you and the bike into the vehicle stopped in front of you. I practice this at every stop, especially in busy parking lots.

Thank you so much for this comment 🥹 I love being able to get over my fears but still do it in a way that I’m comfortable with. I know that riding is extremely dangerous so I want to proceed with caution but also push myself a bit. I find MotoJitsu’s videos very informative! The tip about keeping a distance from cars is really good.

Great to hear from you again. The fireworks looked beautiful. Luckily we're getting to the cooler times, so the gear my be just right.. 😅. That looked so hectic... But you did a great job. I feel some riders would be trying to skip the whole line and weave around through pedestrians as well.

Thank you so much! The fireworks were so nice :) it was cool to view them so close. & yes I think other riders would’ve been more aggressive but I didn’t feel like I was ready for that. Which is okay.

Well at least you can revel in the great clutch control in stop & go traffic, awesome to see your massive boost in skills and confidence , but don’t be in too much of a hurry to get on the freeway with your bike only being 500cc it’s a little harder to maintain high speeds, find some places where it’s only a few miles between exits so you’re not trapped going farther than you feel comfortable. Be sure to enjoy yourself !!!

Your skills are improving and no doubt you are becoming more confident. The stop-go traffic is a good test for you. The fireworks were spectacular but also a distraction when trying to concentrate on the road. Thanks for sharing your video.

Thank you so much!! I agree that the traffic helped me work on my skills and the fireworks added an extra difficult challenge because a lot of the cars kept stopping to look at them or wouldn’t be paying attention to the road. Definitely a unique experience

Great job dealing with that Rea, it was chaotic indeed. Your riding skills are visibly improving in every video - great job! I have not had to try something like that yet, but hopefully I will be able to do as well as you did. Looks like you had maybe the best seat in the house for the fireworks you saw. That ride out with all the pedestrians was definitely nerve-wracking for me just watching lol. I have been on a few night rides so far, it is definitely enjoyable (at least with no chaos! )😃Thank you for sharing the journey with us, it is so helpful in my own - keep them coming!

On hot days I ride with a TechNiche Hyperkewl evaporative vest under my mesh jacket. It has something inside it that soaks up water. Dip the vest in water for a few minutes before you wear it, and it stays damp for a few hours. The water-holding stuff seems to slowly wash out, so I have to buy a new one from time to time.

it looks like you have your high beam headlight on which is very annoying to the person in front of you. You might will get someone angry at you...road rage. which will not be health for a bike rider.

Aggressive riding is the sign of a bad, ignorant rider, something I have seen a lot of in my 41 years of riding. Assertive riding is riding with road awareness, adopting a confident presence making eye contact with other road users and not letting it become an ego battle or taking other people's bad driving as a personal attack on you ! I think Rea is doing just fine for relative newcomer. Her riding style will keep her safe and alive for many years to come. If I had a daughter like her who rode a bike I would be very proud. Well done.
