Here in the Netherlands it;s normal to check mirors, but also check your shoulder. When turning right? 1st: left mirror. 2nd: Right mirror. 3rd Right shoulder. When turning left, it's the same, but then start with right mirror. Thats how it's thought here in the Netherlands. I love you're babysteps in learning how to drive. You are doing awesome!!!. Here in the Netherlands you have to take courses. Every week e few hours, before doing 2 exams. 1 Specific to learning how to handle tha bike. (brake, figure 8, turning corners, etc etc). 2nc exam is learning how to drive on the road (positioning, looking, etc etc). So yeah, different but good. You are doing great. Keep it going girl! :)

One thing i might add, well 2 thing... Lighter tinted clothing (yes the helmet too) WILL stay cooler in the sun, that's a fact, second, and most important, always, always try the helmet on, the measure of your head is nothing, it's the shape that matters, and an helmet that is too tight will become unbearable quite quickly, a brand new helmet should fit you snuggly, it will loosen up with time, and if you are trying a modular helmet (flip front or whatever you want to call it) try it both open and closed, because it will get tighter in the front when closed. And yes, i do sell motorcycle gear for a living...

On hot days, what type of gear would you recommend for staying cool while riding?
@Uriel-Septim.
@Uriel-Septim. 10 күн бұрын
Good advice, I would also add, that most people, after a season or tree, want new gear, so buying the most expensive is often not a good investment as well as buying the cheapest that often wont last you even one season (like them gloves) helmets do get old, both the inside and outside and buying a +1000$ helm will not guarantee it will last you more then max 5 years imho and I would say 3 years if you use it on a daily base, also if you do buy an expensive one, do add an extra visor, so you have a spare one on hand, annoying to find out after 2-3 years that it is out of stock and you now have an expensive helmet with a scratsy visor, I ride close to every day and I buy a new helmet every 2-3 season, so I found that a nice 400-600$ helmet that on sale cost around 300$ is the way for me.

@@alexanderbrooks1313 Light colored, with the least amount of black possible (i don't know why people love black clothes (yeah they keep the dirt best, but the world is so full of color!) perforated jacket (with armor), if you want perforated trousers, but in my opinion reinforced motorcycle cargo pants (no extra lining) work just as good, perforated gloves and shoes (all must be certified, well at least in Europe we the labeling not only for helmet, and a well vented helmet, LS2 , Shoei (at lest these i've tried), Nolan, plus Nolan does a crazy ventilated helmet (N30) which looks like a bike helmet but it's a fully certified motorcycle helmet, but it's crazy expensive (and i don't know in which market outside Europe is available.

Thanks for the video! I too do NOT know how to ride a motorcycle, and like you I will be purchasing my new motorcycle soon. I plan to go out and look this weekend. I had the same motorcycle ( good looking bike)as you have in mind, however just recently I discovered the Triumph Speed 400. Looks like a great beginner bike. I’m leaning heavily on this one so far. So glad for you and accepting that challenge ❤

Hey, lots of Love and Good fortune from India. I have a question, I recently bought my First Motorbike ever (Royal Enfield’s Hunter 350) a month ago to be precise and learned how to ride it but I’m still not very comfortable in twisties especially uphill and we have a lot of them here in Himalayas, I was wondering how much time it takes to master fluid turns. I even dropped my motorcycle twice due to slow momentum (Thank God nothing happened to it due to Crash guard) and to be fully transparent, my Gear shifting is also not very smooth but still better than the day 1.
@RidewithRea
@RidewithRea 12 күн бұрын
@@fangsofecstacy6095 hi!! Thank you so much for the support and great question. Congrats on getting your first bike 😊 I would say the best way to improve your skills (shifting and also turning) would be to find a flat area like a large empty parking lot where you can practice and master those skills. I truly believe the saying practice makes perfect and if you are able to do it on a flat surface that would be way more helpful so it’s in a controlled environment. Once you get really good and comfortable with tight turns and shifting I think you’ll be able to adjust to the uphill Twisties. Another general note for uphill turns, don’t be afraid to use more throttle but make sure you use your rear brake controlled by your foot to control your speed. It’s really a balance between rear brake and throttle. I hope this way helpful 😊😊 good luck and safe riding!!

I am a little confused. You say this is day 2 of learning to ride, does that mean that you don't need to have completed the MSF course in order to ride a 300cc motorcycle where you are? You really don't look like someone on day 2 of learning to ride I have to say.
@RidewithRea
@RidewithRea 13 күн бұрын
@@Uniquecapture hi! Yes this was my day 2 of learning how to ride. I did not take the MSF course yet (as you can see on my channel I have a vlog of me taking it few months after this video) Where I live you do not need to take the MSF course in order to ride on the road. You just need a motorcycle learners permit. I took the MSF course a few months after so that I could finally get my motorcycle license :)

I took a course and a local tech collage over the weekedend with my wife they taught us how to ride on manuals. 5 years later i still only buy automatics xD not that i cannot drive a manual bike I also drove manual cars. Its just that automatics are eaiser to deal with and i feel like in an emergency theres lsst to worry about with an automatic if that makes any sense. but manual is fun as hell to drive.

Hahaha!!! That's exactly what I did today Rea and congratulations!!!! I bought a 125cc Mutt Motorcycle (made in Birmingham, England) and don't have my CBT test yet for a few weeks (CBT=Compulsory Basic Training that we have to do in the UK to be able to ride legally on the roads on a bike with power up to 125 cc. If you want to ride a more powerful motorbike you need to do the full license here in the UK....I'll get there eventually!). Never having ridden a motorcycle ever before and having watched a few youtube vids, I practised doing exactly what you were doing: just finding that bite point on the clutch and learning to go fwd with a bit of throttle and stop in 1st gear! Amazing feeling! Although I am still a total fraud I actually feel like a motorbiker now!! Phil, North Wales, UK

geeez rusty chain better oily dirty chain than rusty chain :) if u not lazy, clean ur chain with diesel and used tooth brush then lube with any leftover oil u have, or gear oil (better) if u lazy like me, just lube the chain after riding (when the chain still warm) then clean with used clothes or towel there is 125 million motorcycle in my country no need special technology for chain :)

Cute girl buys a bike without knowing how to ride, never been done before 🤣. I have no idea how it works in America but in the uk you need to take a CBT to ride a bike up to 125cc, you are not allowed above 650cc until you are 24 years old. You cannot get right on to a big bike unless you are 24 and do your full theory and road test. It makes sense to start smaller. As others have said, get gear please, you’ll feel hot and claustrophobic but at least you won’t lose your skin. That bike is far to big for a first bike!

This might be a weird question but I just got a motorcycle and when I take it out to practice, my helmet gets soaked from sweat; it's pretty gross. Once I get the hang of it I'd like to take it places socially and you know, not be disgusting when I show up. I'm in Florida and it's almost July now...any advice? Other than wait until it gets cooler? I'd really like to use it to get around soon. Maybe it's just a bad helmet that's not ventilated well enough?
