So I have been a preferred member for Amsoil it appears. A break down of cost. Primary Fluid $12.69, Transmission $15.09, motorcycle oil $12.29. So average is $13.35 each at five quarts. Plus a WIX Oil filter at $18.85 so I will stay where I am at because is not expensive. Thought I would share. Thank you!

I have used Amsoil in my Harley, sportster for the last 21 years never had an issue with the engine or the transmission. Oil tank never gets above 195°F even on the hottest of days. And yes, I do believe it makes the engine run cooler. I did a test one day drove about 15 miles pulled into this bike rally when I first switched to AMSOIL and I realized I could hold on to my oil filter for 2 seconds was quite surprised. The other guy I was riding with you could not even get your hand close to his oil filter without burn your hand. When I first bought that bike, it never ran under 220°F on the hot days, so yes I believe AMSOIL makes it run cooler. AMSOIL is worth it to me not to have issues. also use AMSOIL in my ATV never had an issue. Very impressive riding my hat is off to you sir.

Great video, based on actual experience and not just opinion. Went with Amsoil last time in my 2011 fxdc due to all the hype but like you, did not notice any loss of heat. It's also hard to find being only available thru private distributors mostly out of their homes. And as you mentioned It's $$$$$. I'm 73, don't ride hard, just cruise but enjoy taking care of my bike. I believe most important more than the brand is changing it regularly. Next change I'm headed to Walmart for Mobile 1.

The previous owner was not kind to this bike. I have used Syn3 and the new H-D heavy synthetic primary oil in the trans and primary. I also added the oil cooler fan and the Screaming Eagle Oil Pump. I appreciate this video. My 110 screamin eagle did run quiter on the top end with amsoil over the syn 3. Amsoil is cheaper if you are a part of the preferred customer program at 20 bucks a year. I have always wondered about the Mobil 1 because again like you said, price. and availability are great, and with the flo reusable oil filter i now use. Next trip to Walmart ill give Mobil 1 v twin a try. Thanks!

Great information. Thanks! I switched between the 3 on my various bikes and notice little, if any, difference. Currently using Amsoil because a friend sells it to me at a decent price. I believe the last time I checked, the Harley rates for a three hole was north of $300 with a 2+ week lead time.. unless you get there at the crack of dawn on a Saturday, when it's first come - first served.. but you're talking getting there 1+ hours before they open and being stuck there until they are done.. which can be 2+ hours after they open.

Thanks Cue ! Weather is getting better here in NorCal, hope it's good wherever you are ! Very wise to change oil often. I researched HD oil and it's made by Sonoco (Texas) and they also have heavy duty CK-4 Diesel engine oil and industrial oil to list a few. I'm old, old-fashioned, and cheap lol so I use stock HD oil mostly because I live in a moderate year-round temperature zone. I would consider synthetic if I was as good as you are at rodeo riding.

I ran the Harley Syn in my 2015 Street Bob that had a Stg 4 in it. When I bought my 2020 SGS that has the M8 the motor (with just a stg. 2) seem to stay hotter longer after it was shut down. I move to Mobil 1 and have been happy with it. I also added a Feuling oil pump and camplate. Oil is the life blood of the motor and since I ride fairly hard..my bike has been tricked out as a performance bagger , I change all 3 holes every 3000 miles.

Klotz or Redline. Group V oils hold up the best in the heat a V Twin creates . It flows much quicker also when you fire up the bike on those mornings in the 30's but warms up into the 70's in the afternoon. Great additive package for a shared sump system like Indian, Victory and Yamaha V-Twins.

I can speak from direct experience and tuner of my own bikes. I have a 2014 ZX-14 and a 2021 H2 both running Amsoil and it absolutely makes the bike smoother and shifts are even better. My H2 has 260whp and absolutely rips. I believe I gained 3-4whp by switching over. My 2022 Hayabusa only has exhaust, filter and hasn't been tuned yet, but runs Amsoil after break-in. I run it in my tow boat and the drive is smoother and the top end rpms raised by 250rpm. I am not an Amsoil fan boy and use Valvoline EP HM in numerous vehicles and work vans. I service three bikes, two boats, and 8 vehicles. I do not run Amsoil in the vans and SUV. I have Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my SRT Jeep and the rest have Valvoline Extended Performance High-mileage, even when they are not all high mileage, but because of the additive and wear packages. But filters make a huge difference in oil pressure and flow also. The three best filters are the Purolator Boss, Fram Endurance and Amsoil EAO. I can link the video testing, if you like. But the bikes for certainly run cooler and smoother from factory oil. Also, I will never use Mobil1 in any vehicle again after they reformulated and changed their filters to semi-synthetic filter media and oil is nowhere near what it used to be. It was cost cutting made by Mobil1. 15 years ago was a different time than now. Might be worth trying a couple oil changes of Amsoil and see what you think. I would be interested what you thought.

I did my stage 2 last year, and the engine looked great inside so I see no reason to change. A friend of mine sells amsoil, and it's definitely good stuff pricey, but good. For the primary and transmission i have found redline to be the best, I swear the transmission runs and shifts smoother, and the clutch feel is a bit better, could be in my head, but theres a lot of people who all seem to feel the same way about them.

I run the Mobil 1 synthetic hypoid gear oil in my gear box 75w-140 grade. A gear box should receive a gear oil. That stinky smell of it is all the slippery additives that make it superior to regular motor oil in there. HD recommends 20,000 miles in my 2018 Softail Sport Glide gearbox oil changes, and 10,000 mile primary oil changes. Proper gear oil in a transmission just doesn't break down that easily, especially when the bike just doesn't make that much HP.
