(Fender TMP) If you cut the bass a little more it would really sit better in a mix with kick drum and bass. Regarding digital platforms today compared to our old method when gigging, I wish I had a digital platform back then. I used to kill my back lugging my rack and cabs. My rack was so heavy. I remember sliding down a steep set of stairs on my back while protecting my rack. Screwed up my back but my rack was saved. Young guys dont know the struggle. If I had my QC back then I would have saved my back. Now when I go to my buddies house I just bring a guitar and my QC. Easy peezy.

In the future I'd be interested to see how the TMP and other modelers you have sound running them into the FX return of two(or one) of your tube amps bypassing the preamp stage and only using the output section into real speaker cabs.

DT is still my fav. band since I first heard them ! Lately I've been using a small amp, two notes captor x and pedal board playing out instead of my Kemper. Portable and sounds fantastic.

Hey man! The new Kemper Profiler Pedal is rolling out soon! They have "liquid profiling" that captures the entire tone stack of the amp being profiled, so when adjusting the amp - it's supposed to match better. We'll see, or should I say "hear"! Ha ha! I know it's not a gimmick as he really thinks long term with this unit. But look, was I honestly a bit selfishly disappointed to learn that it was still pushed back? Of course I was, not gonna lie here hahaha I really do hope the AmpX sells well (if it's great of course) because I think it's like a life achievement for him as an amp designer. Personally, having to bring only one speaker and guitar cable with the unit at a gig is a big big selling point.

I mean, I get it, but to be honest, the EQ'ing that makes those sounds "mix-ready" does NOT equate to the guitar sounds that inspire me to play. Just my opinion, of course...my favorite IR's for my taste are older-generation OwnHammers from the Heavy Hitters Vol 1 and 2 packs.

I agree, the cabs are dark and with my own IRs sound much better and louder. I was cutting my IRs at 6.2 k also, interesting.

I saw a interview with Thomas at NAMM, That said Amp X would be released this year. They are just putting the final touches on the Modern channel.

So I think you're impulse response sounds good... Any chance you could make another patch, This time change the input routing options so that you could run two cabinets.. Set up the microphone's that you used in your impulse. Response the exact same way on the cabinet... Apply the same high and low pass filters and run this test again? I'm not sure how it was very fair comparison to use the royer 121 and sm57 tried and tested method vs. a lonely sm7 in a less than optimal position? Not trying to throw shade I just see a giant hole in this experiment. And I would be interested to see what the results would be if we started the race off using the same starting position 🤔 I have filled my tmp with 256 impulse responses and use them often, mainly to save time and get dual mic setups that have an eq or boost added to make life easier and simplify my signal chain. The TMP cab block sucks. Straight up sucks. Having a touchscreen and rotary encoders is awesome; but then the interface itself has dots representing fixed points in the mic sweep. Wut? Is this 2014? This is not even getting into the speaker impedance curve being baked into the cab block versus the amp block like other modelers. By the time it's "caught up" with everything worth being caught up to; those brands/devices will be on to new things and a new generation.
