Hi, I'm Peter Claes, and welcome to my Masterclaes® Channel.

Phenomenal gear review 🌿 It's so nice to have a insight into such amazing gear and knowledge 🙏🏻 I started with a small studio I am passionate about hardware and got my first 1073 last week ☺️. I know it's a process and I think I learned a lot in the past years. Now I am at a point where my ears can tell differences between vintage gear, rebuilds, clones and emmulations. Please keep charring the wisdom - sounds hyped 😅 I know but it's so interesting and I hope to get my hands on the CL1B in a few month when I can afford it 🚀 Until then I will try out the Klark Teknik Products 🙈 Cheers 🙏🏻

I wished my first video’s about mixing in the box were in English. A lot of mixtips there! Will redo them soon!

Great videos, thanks for sharing your workflow and amazing studio! Would love to know what amp you are using for those NS-10s and if you had any amp recommendations for them from your experience over the years. Cheers!

Hi Alex, the amp is really crappy, but I am going to switch it out with an old Yamaha Amp I bought together with a pair of NS1000's! But an old Amcron DC300 or a Bryston is a very good amp too!

What do you use the la2a for if the others are your goto’s for vocals and bass?

Super informatieve videos and zeer goed uitgelegd! Echt heel erg bedankt! Heb zelf ook de Comp STA LEVEL en CL1B compressors (in plugin dan wel), en deze klinken inderdaad echt fantastisch! Als ik een kleine vraag mag stellen, ik werk met de UAD interfaces, en heb een TLM103 microfoon. Met de UAD interface kan je (via Unison) verschillende Preamps inladen voor de interface, deze bootsen dan de 'sound' na van de mengtafels en preamps. Maar telkens wanneer ik luider zing 'belting' hoor ik wat lichte distortie en lijkt het alsof de gain wat lager gaat ofdat mijn stem 'thinner' klinkt. Ik heb al vanalles geprobeerd, verschillende plaatsingen van de mic, of wat achteruit gaan bij luide stukken, ook verschillende settings in mijn DAW, gain level rond -18 tot -12dB. Ik heb de indruk dat het inladen van de preamps de oorzaak geeft, zoals bij een NEVE 1073. Op sommige forums spreken ze dat de originele versie ook distortie geeft, het karakter van een NEVE. Andere meningen praten over een 'PAD' inschakelen bij de preamp. Ik zit wat in de knoei voor het moment haha :))) sorry voor dit lang bericht.. Maar hopelijk heeft u misschien een andere suggestie om te proberen..

Heb je al eens geprobeerd om zonder de emulatie te werken? Hoe is je gain structuur? Blijf je weg van de clipping? Er zijn vele vragen eer ik je een oplossing kan aanreiken

@@MasterclaesVideos Heyyy bedankt voor je reactie! Ik heb nu zonder de emulatie gewerkt, en ja het ligt aan de 1073. Wanneer ik deze inlaadt op de Unison, en instel rond de 40-50, dan krijg ik die distortion klank als ik luider begin te zingen. Bij een lagere instelling naar 20 ofzo, is het nog maar heel licht. Maar zonder een unison plugin klinkt het zuiver en zeer helder, dus kan het beter zo houden. De SSL4000 channel strip is ook wel enorm goed en kristalhelder. Voor de gain structure hou ik normale zang sterkte op -18db, en de heel luide delen tot maximum -6db. 😁 Bedankt nog voor het advies!
