I saw this series of videos and i was amazed for that quantity/quality gear, but, as a suggestion, could you do a videos showing us how do you use each rack/effect? thanks a lot

Subscribed! Very impressive gear collection, Peter… and I’ve only seen a few of your mics in other videos! I imagine that is equally impressive. Thank you for sharing! That must have taken a few decade’s work to collect some of the world’s finest gear. I watched all 4 of your rack “introduction” videos. Love the idea of the 2nd set of monitors at the rack position. Never seen that before. Brilliant. Question, when you talk about your signal path going out one rack device, into another, are they hardwired that way on the respective devices, or just normaled/half-normaled that way on a patch bay so the individual units are patchable?

Hi, thanks for the commenr and the subscription! Yes it took me 35 years to collect my outboard and mics. The outboard is not patchable anymore, they are my preferred chains that I tried and tested over the years and that were composed meticulously with even buying gear that would perfect the chains. If it works: great! If it doesn’t work: I’ll just use plugins… but they mostly work 😎. Would you do it differently?

@@MasterclaesVideos For me, I think I would make it patchable, but I’m an “experimenter.” That said, your explanation makes perfect sense. You know what you like and based on your experience and how you work, that works best for you. I would imagine it speeds up your workflow too. There is no one-way to do things and it’s cool that you have your process dialed in that precisely. I’ve just never seen it done that way, but for a private studio, it makes sense.

Summing is in the box. I use my hardware as inserts as explained in the video.

Do you run the effects into a hardware preamp or do you go line level into the Apollo 16?

Hi, some fx go directly into the apollo, for some others I used a line mixer and then into the apollo. Since all fx outs are line level there is no use for a pre-amp
