I'm a Detroit gal and have been acquainted with Ted for decades. I know Mitch and the Wheels better. In almost every interview Ted takes the opportunity to talk about what a great player Jimmy McCarty is and how much of an influence he had on him. Many musicians don't like to share that kind of information, they would rather people think they came up with their sound themselves. Say what you will about Ted but he has my respect for his continued support of a talented Detroit legend who deserves wider recognition. One thing though, Jimmy played a Gretsch Chet Atkins on Jenny Take a Ride and all the records, it was his main guitar at the time. I also have to say I was surprised to hear the name of my brother's buddy mentioned, Joe Padorsick.(Sp?) He owned a music store in Detroit called "Capital" my brother was a teacher there. Thanks for posting this.

Can't say I agree with everything the man says, especially when it comes to politics, but you can't dispute the man has a rock & roll heart and KNOWS the roots of the music we love!!! And I LOVED what he said about the R&R HOF - with the inclusion of some of the "acts", they ARE pissing on the graves of the greats! Not criticizing their music, but ROCK & ROLL? NO WAY!!! The Fender Super Twins he always used has such a great sound but they’re so loud I never could get one even close to it’s sweet spot. I’ve always wanted a amp with the preamp of a Super Twin and the power section of a Vibrolux or Pro reverb. I don’t think Super Twin Reverbs get the appreciation they deserve because they’re just so loud when you get them going.

Ya know I've worked with Ted Nugent and found him to be absolutely hilarious! Not Everyone knows how to handle a type A personality so they are offended., I get that. But...he isn't just some dumb kid who plays guitar and got lucky. He is VERY INTELLIGENT and speaks his mind. He says what alot of people want to say but don't have the balls to do it! At least he says it OUT LOUD where EVERYONE can hear/read it instead of being some puss behind a keyboard that wants trash someone! He is ALL ABOUT his family. Seriously about music and makes his opinion known on topics that most are too scared. I like the fact he brings subjects to the forefront so change can happen. Entertainers use their name and status for stuff all the time. He just does it .......LOUD......Uncle Ted style! ;-) I would work with him again any day! And by the way..... I know.....for a fact...... HE DOESN'T DO ANY DRUGS!

+Guy Man (evelskunny71) that's the great thing about music. ....it's all a matter of translation, opinions and taste. Not everyone likes every musician, genre, instrument or style. But, he has been doing something right to still be here...not forgotten like a lot of other musicians. He is still relevant and STILL WEALTHY doing what he likes to do and NOT EVERYONE IS THAT LUCKY!

+Little Tee I don't have any problem with people who are opinionated. I just have a problem with people who choose a political side, and then spout lies about the other side, to get attention. And Ted does just that.

There are songs that are iconic that seem to move mountains when played by the originator. A thousand youtube videos of "Eruption" but none compare to when you see Eddie playing it. Same for Stranglehold. There's just something about that intro that when you see Nugent playing it...it's like seeing an old friend.

I was fortunate enough to sit in a hotel room with Ted in 1970 and play both the black and squished blond Byrdlands for about an hour. What a night!!! If you read this Ted thanks again for being so thoughtful and gracious. Who is John Galt?

Uncle Ted, i first saw you and the Amboy Dukes play at the Bandshell in Lincoln Park Michigan, do you remember the Band shell? I was in Juior High School, I think it cost $1.50 cents to get in, your music changed my life, i went down the next day to the lincoln Park Pawn shop, and Bought a Byrdland Guitar for $200 Bucks,, Nobody wanted it because it was not a Les Paul, Can you Dig it Man, I made out, thanks to my paper route , , the Detroit Free Press, , it was in the window, , Keep on Rockin Brother, Cousin Figel
