I've been a fan for several years, but John Crist wasn't "cancelled" he was disciplined. He committed sins against women (and, per previous reports older teenage girls) , broke laws (driving drunk, among others), and generally lived the opposite of what he professed. I'm glad he has sought counsel and forgiveness, but this interview gives a distorted view of what he did to wreak his own upward career. I agree with others here who have commented that this was a huge missed opportunity to talk about God's grace and mercy in his life. He's self-professed Christ follower, as such, he's *supposed to* "get all spiritual and everything".

I think JC misrepresented himself to his audience, if he thinks the behavior that got him in trouble 'wasn't that bad'. And somehow at the same time he admits he was in a dark place during that time... It doesn't add up. So disappointed in MK for downplaying unhealthy behavior such as alcohol abuse and casual or adulterous intimate relationships. Our society needs a better standard for men

He is specifically referencing her question, how is what he did it different from the norm & does that show the hypocrisy of cancel culture? The question wasn't about whether what he did was not that bad or ok - its that its par for the course sadly and he was canceled most likely due to having any affiliation with Christianity. He repeatedly said he owned his mistakes and blamed no one but himself.

Let’s be honest, he didn’t really get cancelled. He was being hypocritical, & so people reacted accordingly. Kinda like the Bud Light boycott. He did things that true Christians are heavily against. So to get a 2nd chance is really a rarity & he is actually very lucky that the Christian community does follow God’s principles of “love one another as I have loved you”. Otherwise I truly think his actions would have ended his career rather than temporarily suspended it. I am happy for you John, & I hope you continue to follow God’s direction for your life. But I’ve watched all his skits and some of his standup and I can totally relate as I was raised by a Pentecostal family who went to church 3 times a week. Sunday was pretty much an all day event, Wednesday was missionettes and royal rangers, Thursday was choir practice, and when I got older Friday was youth group. I went through a rebellious stage before I gained a balance in my life from my super strict upbringing.

I am in no way condemning Jon, but as Christians, we are not supposed to look like the rest of the world. That’s kind of the point. When nonbelievers do what Jon did, it’s somewhat expected. But when you call yourself a Christian, you’re holding yourself to a different standard. A holy standard. That’s why it’s a bigger deal.

I appreciate your gift brother, I watch your stand up all the time when I’m doing busy work at home, it keeps me entertained with clean humor, but I would be very careful about the road your treading on trying to fit in and not get “super spiritual” about all that God kept you from after all the bad choices you made. It was a wonderful opportunity to stand up ever so briefly in this interview and speak a real witness for Christ's power and care. Lord, be with this talented man as he continues, hopefully, to grow in the grace and mercy You provide to us. May he use his platform that is doing so well per his own claim and his excellent talent to speak out regarding his relationship with you, sharing Jesus joy and that great sense of humor he has.

I don’t think we should expect a 30 year old to be the type of things that they Just do. That’s one of the problems with our society. Our expectations of each other is very low. And I don’t condemn him at all because there are many things I’m not proud of. I have made more mistakes than I would care to admit. However, as a Christian our bar goes even higher because we are representing Christ. I pray John will always remember that. Being “canceled” in this culture means nothing at the end, however, living genuinely has an eternal value.

I wish as Christians we would stop referring to “the left” and “the right” in a derogatory manner. I respect all political parties. God gives us free will to choose and we are truly blessed to live in the USA where we can vote and have a voice. I also know many Christians who are democrats. Wonderful people. Your statement that “The left tries to ruin and mock others” is a bit aggressive and categorizes and separates people. I think it’s better to embrace one another’s differences and opinions without putting a group of people into a category. I really enjoy John Crist’s comedy. I think I was a bit taken aback by your comment. I saw more Christians saying such rotten things about democrats (other human beings that were made in the image and likeness of God) on social media that I was ashamed of them. If I wasn’t a Christian that behavior would’ve completely made me want to stay away from anybody who called themselves a Christian. I am definitely not trying to be offensive, but as somebody that is a Christian and loves the Lord Jesus I think we need really walk out the fruits of the spirit.

When you're a follower of Christ, approval doesn't come from having sold out shows. It comes from God and being obedient to His Word. You can gain everything in the world and yet lose your soul. I've enjoyed listening to John, but sounds like he doesn't take his sin seriously and is looking for acceptance from the world instead of from the Lord. Not that we have to live perfectly to be accepted by God- He gave His Son, Jesus, to live perfectly and still take the punishment for our sin so that we could be forgiven and be friends with God, who is holy and perfect. We still mess up, of course, sometimes even in "big" ways, but the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and we repent and confess that, and try again because we love God and are grateful for Him loving us first. By downplaying sin and the forgiveness we've received by God's grace, we trivialize what Jesus did for us. I'm sad to hear John talk this way. Only God knows his heart, but right now, he's not showing gratitude for what the Lord has done for Him and it's hard to believe he is a believer.

If John was a secular comedian, nothing would have happened. His claims of being a Christian entertainer was the problem. This has happened to preachers and Christian musicians. For the most part all who acknowledged their sin were welcomed back. To equate it with cancel culture feels a bit misleading. I think John was noticeably uncomfortable in the interview, because Megyn was trying to push a narrative, he wasn't fully comfortable with. John had to look at himself, as many of us have, and say I fell off the path. He got back on, and he seems to have his life right with God now.

Megyn Kelly describing his behavior as something normal 30 year old men would do is essentially saying, “Boys will be boys.” I don’t understand this in light of her own experience with sexual misconduct from Bill O’Reilly. But not every Christian guy in his 30s. That is the problem. The problem is proclaiming one thing and actively deceiving your entire audience. I sure do hope that you experience real forgiveness in Jesus. We are rooting for you.

His eyes are two different colors. That is pretty rare. Everyone is an individual, but as an open Christian, I did expect him to live a moral life, as I expect it of my boys and my girl and myself. I did feel let down and disappointed. I hope he is sincere in his repentance and can move forward.

This is a story of redemption! People want to say that as Christians we should be above sin and when we commit sin we are somehow worse than a non-Christian who commits sin. That’s so far from truth. ALL of us sin, that’s why we need grace. This is a story of an imperfect human living in the flesh, like we all do, and realizing that he is imperfect. The key is he did something about it. He turned it around. Not to say he will be perfect, again, no one is. But, “let he that is without sin cast the first stone”. I think if you’re a Christian and you’re casting stones at Jon, you need to check up! Proud of him

Being a hypocritical Christian (she brought up texting & dming women, he brought up drinking, addiction to social media). They already hate Christians, being able to point at a perhaps "more imperfect" person and claim "see! Christianity doesn't 'work', they are still bad people" is their favorite game.

Please do not let this keep you from pursuing a relationship with Jesus. A true relationship with God will look like genuine conviction from the Holy Spirit, love for the lost (regardless of political status), and glorifying God over glorifying self. Jesus came for you! Do not pass up the greatest gift because of them.

Rosanne was definitely fired for the right reason after she called Valerie Jarrett's mother who is black an ape. And if anyone thinks that's okay go up to the nearest black man and say that while not being in a controlled environment. Otherwise keep comments like that to yourself.

I agree. Rosanne was absolutely destroyed for making one stupid statement. It sickens me to see the show she started with her name continued without her. Shame on all of them. It should've been just an apology and the show goes on. Our society makes saints out of criminals, defends violent riots, promotes racism against one race, but a person makes one dimb statement and is treated like they comiitted genocide. I'll never understand.

We are all sinners, so it's not a surprise to me that John was struggling with his own. We are also all hypocrits as well, and it's not surprising to me that John was one too. Jesus Christ, if we allow him, can change those sins to learning and growth and "return beauty for ashes."

I like this comedian he has the courage through comedy to show the church why we are so in effective in this lost world. Beginning with the leadership who some think they are fully matured in the spirit and think they are higher than other staff in the church. The crazy part is when you tell them you prayed about it and God says No and its No to their church or ministry they are shocked. The church lives in a bubble.
