Hey, new sub. This is the second one I've watched and I get why you have to pause but if you could just rewind it a few seconds before playing it again it would really help. Things get missed a lot of times when starting it right off where you paused.

Had a beer and chatted with Bobby Hatfield after a show at Hampton Beach, NH, back in the 80’s. By far the best of the blue-eyed soul singers. His head voice was a force of nature. Also a kind and humble gentleman. RIP Bobby!

Hey Xavier, unfortunately I'm old enough to remember these songs when they were hits first time round. You sound like you have had some musical training and your calls are spot on. Keep up the good work mate and don't forget you are just scraping the top of 20 years of brilliant music, most of which has never been heard by your generation. Your job now is to bring this music to another generation. Many thanks and regards, Rob.

We always called this blue eyed soul Xavier, but I dont remember the term "panty dropper" used back then. My crowd called it "Make out music" and when this song came on you hoped you were in a Rambler whose seat back dropped all the way down level and matched up the the back seat! Dud movie at the drive in?! Just put on the blue eyed soul. It was a much more romantic time... and people wanted to find the right person...to commit and to propose and marry and live with forever.... not just a one night stand. So glad you appreciate this great group like we did. Where did those 70 years go?

Wonderful reaction, Xavier. I was one of those lucky enough to have been there then, and to me they were the BEST. I feel like their music was the soundtrack of my youth! It seemed to be destiny that brought them together, a perfect match, but they were also amazing solo artists. You asked for suggestions, so here goes - Ebb Tide, covered by Bobby. One of the most beautiful songs (as sung by him) I have ever heard. Not one you could forget

I'm glad you took my and other peoples advice. These guys were consistently great in person. It's a pleasure to see someone else who has caught up to their greatness. Yes, the part where Bobby speaks to his love is call the "recitation", and it was really made popular by black groups in the 40's such as The Ink Spots. Try The Ink Spots doing "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire", "If I Didn't Care", "It's All Over But The Crying", and "It's A Sin To Tell A Lie". Great stuff.

In 1976 Bill's ex-wife was murdered in her home a crime that went unsolved until 2017. It was very sad. They went by the name The Paramours, they played the Apollo a black man told them they sounded like talented black singers... Man! You sound like two Righteous Brothers! They sang Beautiful music. But Nobody harmonized like The Everly Brothers They gave Elvis a run for his money when it came to chart hits Try "Till I Kissed You" by them.

Couple of things...if you listen to "I 've had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing that's Bill Medley. And the source of their name is interesting...They were singing in a predominantly black club when someone yelled out "You guys are Righteous Brothers!!!!" The name stuck. Here's one more for you "Just once in my Life" great song.

If you want to see what the Righteous Brothers looked like in color and with longer hair and hear what they sounded like a decade later, then I recommend their "groovy" No. 3 pop hit from 1974 called "Rock and Roll Heaven." It is a tribute to iconic musical artists from the 1960s and early 1970s who were taken from us too early: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Jim Morrison, Jim Croce and Bobby Darin. It's not as good as the previous three songs you've reacted to by the duo, but it is a nice song and is packed with a lot of sentiment. :-)

Btw, Bobby Hatfield passed away, Bill Medley still performs amazingly, often w/daughter McKenna.. ▶He's a great friend/mentor/collaborator w/one my fav.singers in the world, incredible, raspy voiced & guitar player Michael Grimm "blue-eyed soul", like Bill..Grew up a poor, white boy in Mississippi..He won AGT 2010(Amer.Got Talen), but this quiet musician pulled back some from the crazy "biz" side of showbiz & just works with the best musicians in Las Vegas, won "Las Vegas Black Music Association's 'Best Soul Singer'", unusual for a white guy, but he's sooo good!! .. ▶▶PLZ REACT> MICHAEL GRIMM⤵ *Hold On, I'm Coming"-w/Bill Medley at RedRock* (unplanned, live) *These Arms Of Mine* *-I'd Rather Go Blind* *I've Got Dreams* live-Cannery *I've Been Loving You Too Long* *Stay With Me Baby* AGT 2011 🔥🔥 *You Don't Know Me* on Ellen *Falling* on Ellen

You missed out not being a part of those earlier times when music had lyrics, music, and the great talent to perform to perfection. Thankfully, You Tube has brought back all the music of the 50's and60's. If you listen to the many songs from those days, you will enjoy them so much and get to know what real talent is all about. Bobby has many solos on You Tube--love songs, inspirational ones, rock and doo-wop !! Check him out. Cathy

I like your commentary...you have all the terminology down right...I'm guessing you have actually studied 'voice" and music. The best part about them aside from their incredible voices at opposite ends of the vocal scale is that they overlap and harmonize together perfectly in the mid-ranges...and each have different timbre and vibrato. They go together like peanut butter and jelly :-)

Criticism of video quality, and often the comment "Oh no, it's in black and white! Why?" by the younger set on these reactions is laughable, and getting tiresome. For Christ's sake it was 1965...color TV was expensive, the networks switched to color cameras the next year, many shows switched in Sept. 1965. But color TV was expensive for most people. When it was improved and could be mass produced the price went down and yet there was no digital technology or computer controlled quality. Learn your history, I lived it..... hahahhaha
