I'm 73 years old and love listening to their music. I was lucky to grow up with their beautiful music. Both of them were awesome. Bobby's unchained Melody was awesome. You need to listen to him sing it on the Andy Williams show in 1965. He's awesome!!!

This song was THE most played song on American radio and TV stations during the 20th century with a verified 8+ million plays. Since you loved the higher voice of the shorter Bobby Hatfield then you won't believe your ears if you react to the 1965 LIVE version of "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers. It is considered one of the greatest LIVE performances of all time!

Bill Medley (Tall guy) and Bobby Hatfield (The Ken Doll) are the ones that the term "Blue Eyed Soul" was coined for. People thought they were Black vocalists, until they were on the Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday night in early 1965. What a great vocal duo. A ton of soul.

That was a very honest and intelligent Reaction Kai. Yes I agree with other comments that you will be amazed at the solo Bobby Hatfield (the tenor) performs in the 1965 Live version of "Unchained Melody". Add "The Andy Williams show" to your search if u would like to hear them briefly joke about why Bobby is singing it solo. Many have called it the best live solo performance ever and the song has been recorded by near 700 performers but most agree Bobby's is near perfect and is the standard all other singers are judged by when they sing it.

@@kailamay2278 "Unchained Melody" from 1965. Only Bobby Hatfield sings on this song. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f7-aZcuW3Z-dl40.html You've probably heard this song before....but back then, singers either could sing or they couldn't. There were no autotune to enhance their singing voice. NOTE: According to Bill Medley, Bobby and him adopted the name "The Righteous Brothers" for the duo because black Marines from the El Toro Marine base started calling them "righteous brothers". At the end of a performance, a black U.S. Marine in the audience would shout, "That was righteous, brothers!", and would greet them with "Hey righteous brothers, how you doin'?" on seeing them. Hope you enjoyed my comments. Jim Grant

Bill Medley (baritone) and Bobby Hatfield (tenor) were members of a vocal quintet called The Paramours. When the group broke up, Bill & Bobby continued performing as a duo. They were playing a nightclub in Southern California that was a popular hangout for US marines stationed at a nearby marine base. During one of their songs, a black marine stood up and yelled at the stage, "That was righteous, Brothers!", and the name stuck. They basically invented the genre known as Blue-Eyed Soul. They had a number of hits in the 60s and into the 70s, and have gone down as one of the best American duos of all time. Loving Feeling was not only a number one hit for them, but it was also the most-played song on the radio in the 20th century! Sadly, Bobby passed away, but Bill is still actively performing to this day. Other great songs include You're My Soul and Inspiration (another number one hit that was sort of a sequel to Loving Feeling), Ebb Tide, Unchained Melody (a Bobby solo), Rock & Roll Heaven and Little Latin Lupe Lu.

A great song. I vaguely remember this from when I was a little girl. It’s angstful, like that feeling you get from the deadness in a marriage. I decided to watch this video after catching your beautiful and honest reaction to unchained. Wow that's one incredible soul touching song huh? I'm late in recommending that one, but another suggestion would be the Everly brothers performing "All I have to do is dream/Cathy's clown." recorded live in 1960. Classic song. They were such a smooth, elegant act. For some more vintage ballads, I would recommend a couple of 70's songs. The Carpenters: We Only Just Begun. Video. Often considered the best female vocalist of her time. Bee Gees: How Deep Is Your Love. Video. Amazing harmonies and beautiful production. If you are trying to build your channel here are three amazing and highly popular reaction songs/artists: Dimash Kudaibergen: SOS. Live on Singer or Slavic Bazaar. Arguably the best singer alive today. Marcelito Pomoy: The Prayer. Live on the Wish Bus. Another unique and surprising performance, from one of the best voices around. Disturbed: The Sound of Silence. Video or Live on Conan. Their now classic cover of a 60's Pop hit. Powerful and deep.

On their early recordings one of their back up singers was a teenage girl named Cher. Wonder what happened to her😎

Another delightfulm performance on KZfaq is from the musical West Side story. It is entitled "PLACIDO DOMINGO-ANA MARIA MARTINEZ-'TONIGHT' Duet". Puerto Rican soprano Ana Maria Martinez has made the part of Maria relatable to opera fans.

You should give The Crystals a try, one of the girl groups from this same 1960s time period. "Then He Kissed Me" and "Da Doo Ron Ron" are two of their hits. Or the Ronettes "Be My Baby". Or "Runaround Sue" by Dion.

This is a song that should've been in a movie. Perhaps a movie where it's performed in a bar where the lead actor sings it to a pretty girl to get her to go home with him, but she doesn't at first. It's the whole "catch me if you can" romance thing. Hey, y'all don't steal this idea from me. I'm going to a high dollar producer Monday and pitch this idea to him. This is going to be great. Watch for my name in the credits in THE movie of the summer in about 2 years. Shhhhh, mum's the word.

LMAO!! It deserves to be in many a movie! I wonder if it was in any older movies from the time.

This is all live and just talent. That's back in the day when your voices were either there or not and this is a perfect example. Today - too much auto tuning and adjustments going on. True talent is with the voice and the person as is here. Awesome!

You have some songs that you just don't want it to end, at least not yet, this is one of them. I still catch myself saying, "no don't stop" , ur spot on with your reaction, the harmony of these 2 may very well be like the movie title that Jack Nicholson was in "As Good As It Gets", because it's literally 2 great voices blending seamlessly into a single great voice and if ever there was blue eyed soul, you just witnessed it. You can hear it and you can feel it. A lot of covers have been performed to this song, nothing even close to this one. "As Good As It Gets^ l ,again .....

Elvis also did Unchained Melody, Elvis was Elvis, but these guys owned these 2 songs, of course Bobby does Unchained Melody solo, my opinion is he owns it. The live versions of these 2 songs is better than the recorded ones. That's extremely difficult to do , their version is why "You Lost That Loving Feeling" was the most played song on radio and TV in the 20th century. It aired over 8 million times. All I can say is Wow

If you pay attention to detail, you will notice that at no time during the song do their eyes ever meet. They were to be singing in harmony to a woman as one voice, and definitely NOT to each other! One would assume that it was very important, in those days, that they not seem for even a second to be singing to each other. lol
