In an electrifying showdown, the Koenigsegg Regera reclaims its throne as the champion shattering the 0 to 400 to 0 kilometre world record previously held by the Rimac Nevera. Clocking in at a mind-blowing 28.81 seconds, the Swedish masterpiece snatches back the title in a glorious triumph during May.
This is Rimac Nevera setting the record in May with 29.93 seconds [video of rimac setting the world record 0-400-0]
Koenigsegg regained the world record from Rimac, using an out-of-production Regera. So why use an out of production car to set new records? Koenigsegg says "Simply because it can!” The Regera continues to reign as the undisputed King in today's fiercely competitive automotive realm, and that accomplishment deserves to be commemorated with a fresh record-breaking feat.
This is Koenigsegg Regera regaining the record in June with 28.81 seconds [video of Koenigsegg Regera setting the world record 0-400-0]
The Regera originally set the 0-400-0 record in 2019, with a time of 31.49 seconds. Before that, the record was held by the Koenigsegg Agera RS, at 33.29 seconds. The company says smoother tarmac and new Michelin Cup 2 R tires were major factors in improving the car's time.

Christian builds VERY HIGH QUALITY stuff. Stupid fast. The engineering behind him is NASA level. I've seen a koenigsegg race a Bugatti to 200 mph on KZfaq and the koenigsegg pulled away from the Bugatti pretty rapidly. I would add that Christian seems to be very cool and completely down to earth. This is a stark difference from a company like ferrari that is pretty difficult to deal with unless you already own 20 of their cars.

Thats not from the record run. 412km/h is from the top speed run of the Nevera. Both cars did two separate runs one for 0-400kmh-0 and one for 0-250mph-0 as 250mph = 402,34kmh. Both cars ar amazing machines an looking forward to see how far the can push the times as the keep hunting records.

Just went back to the Rimac video, the driver guy held speed above 400kph for at least 4 seconds (0:27 - 00:31) before applying the brake. Therefore Rimac would beat this by at least 3 seconds if he hit the brakes immediately at 400kph.

The gear calculates 0-400 and 400-0. They reached higher because of mph count, but it do not change the kph calculation.

As many times as i watched the Agera rs record run, i never noticed it lost traction for a second in 2nd gear. It probably could been close to a sec faster.

I see the rimac nevera continued to accelerate to 413kph. Instead of stopping at 400. So they might be closer than it looks. It also didnt look like an emergency stop there, rather a gradual brake.

​@@sebidobre5018You do realize that 413 is the speedometer speed, right? They use specialist timing gear.. So racelogic was at 400 when the cars speedo showed 413. Completely normal.

@@Thumbii ok so rimac speedometer was at 413 when it was actually 400, but regera was at 402 when it was 400. How accurate can the regera speedometer be. Cause i know every car is about 8-10kph slower than what is shows on the speedometer. Like every car ive been in when the radar stopped me and my friends. Was about 10kph higher than the speed the policeman told us we were driving at. Now i do not say regera was slower or it is staged, i just said it looked off a bit, just that. Plus to be a second faster is insane

Actually, the rimac went from 0-412-0 kph... in 29.9sec... The regera's record was from 0-400-0... in 28.8sec... When you look at rimac, count how much time it took from 400 to 412kph... then deduct that time from its record run of 29.9... you will find out the rimac could do 0-400-0 in under 27s... it took almost 3 extra seconds to get from 400 to 412kph... and if you deduct those 3s from its record you will see the rimac still holds this title...

why didnt they brake right at 400 then? seems like a driver error, and even if that were true the speedo isnt dead accurate how the racelogic and speed measuring devices are that are used to verify these runs for the record.

Rimac is an awesome performing car, but a few seconds here or there if it doesn't have the sound of a motor revving in every gear I don't want it. I'll take the Koenigsegg any day.

Because they combine 0-250 mph in same attempt. So they in actuality reach 250 mph 402,3 km/h and then they add a buffer so no discussions will be about cheating or such. This is pretty standard in these attempts, in actuality i haven't seen a record attempt NOT combining 400km/h and 250mph. Still silly they wont let Koenigsegg access to the test track. So all their records are on substandard surfaces or public roads. Imo for a record to be official the place ought to be open for competitors to attempt same record. Gate keeping a track proves who is actually scared of who.

Wow lot of Koenigsegg fans here. Yeah petrol engine with sound is cool, I already keep in my mind too. But look at Rimac you can do comfy daily ride and change to beast drag/drift mode with easy. Not to worry how the engine will be so thirsty on gas (fuel consumption). I bet engine as fast as Koenigsegg is not fuel efficient. Actually i Don't really like ev too. But damn Rimac is really fast.. I love the Rimac body looks over the Koenigsegg style. And the argument "because we can" Omg i think its word of loosing cocky side. Usually the real winner will say "challenge accepted" Just bring it up on side to side drag race. 1/4 Miles 1/2 Miles 0-400 400-0 0-400-0 Do it side by side at same day same track. And we'll see.

Wow I just can't imagine. The combustion engine will need to adjust special gasoline for maximum performance, engine prep, oil check, depends on atmosphereic pressure , oxygen lv, humidity, etc. Meanwhile on Rimac all we need is charge it on home. I mean. I don't mind being in 2nd place while taking my coffee while I don't need to prepare all that racing car the consuming complex things.

And speaking of boring ev yes I also noticed it's boring silence without exhaust sound. But I think it's just a matter of time and we will get used to it, it's more comfort tho, imagine saying romantic word to gf while cruising on 200+ kph without getting noisy engine. In a long run engine/exhaust noise can be pain (IMHO).

Koenigsegg used newer tires and a better track then they did last time. Nevera is the same production car that you would buy unchanged. It would be nice if Rimac could re-take the record with a second go at it. It seams possible...

Yes it matters. The level of engineering in these cars are on a very high level, to be able to squeeze out a second faster when the engineering level is this high shows the level of talent and technology in these cars. Plus these are Hyper cars , best of the best . The technology these cars use are all from race cars and if your in the business to make the fastest car , milliseconds are just important as every second.

Nevera is nothing impressive at this price... Aspark Owl : 0-60 mph in 1.69 s Czinger : 1/4 mile in 8.1 s Hennessey Venom F5 : 272 mph Koenigsegg : 0-400-0 in 28.81 s Lotus Evija : 0-300 kmh in 8.8 s McMurtry, already road legal in UK, 0-60 mph in 1.4 s. / 1/4 mile in 7.97 s And a lot of hypercars have higher top speed...

Doesnt matter. The clock doesnt include time spent above 400 km/h. That time spent there is deducted... It´s actually better to be a bit above before breaking than breaking on 400 exactly since you gain more breaking power earlier on, hence why neither car breaked at 400...

If would take the Regera over the Nevera. I think its a little better looking and it actually has an exhaust note. A quiet car like the Nevera might be good if you are deaf, but EV cars are like video games that come with no sound track. Just does not have the total experience.
