I remember this period so well. As hard as it is to believe now, with the Beatles sales still high and dominating sites like KZfaq, many people considered the Beatles passé. As a lifelong Beatles fan that always depressed me, that the culture didn't understand yet how long lasting their genius would be. You hear it even with Ringo here, politely saying that someone else will replace them.

Jeez, Johnny, you asked the same question of Paul and he didn't know about it either.
@Kieop
@Kieop 6 күн бұрын
That's why he asked it. Paul gave him no joy, so he was hoping that Ringo would know. Paul even accused him of making it up. At least Ringo acknowledged that it could've happened even if he didn't remember it. This is clearly something that was legitimately bothering him; I would've asked it too until I got some kind of satisfaction.

But he was wrong about the Beatles. I feel they are eternal
@mikestevenson576
@mikestevenson576 3 жыл бұрын
He wasn't saying they're not eternal. Just that their popularity and influence would be duplicated. A year later Michael Jackson mania started, he owned the 80s in the same way the Beatles owned the 60s, and decades later his music remains just as much of a mainstay as that of The Beatles. If they both magically reappeared to do concerts at peak form, I'm not sure one would be more popular than the other.

Johnny told the same Ed Sullivan story to Paul McCartney and both Paul and Ringo said it is not true. Ringo is out of it here, it is Johnny who did not come to this interview with good questions. If Johnny had more competition in the Late Night talk show world he would have never have lasted this long.

@@larrygrebler5054 I believe that we as Americans are at a place where evil is intensifying as satan owns the air, TV, internet and radio! I was not with the Lord when I watched Johnny Carson when I was younger! All over the world we have the CoVid and it's changing the world! We have lockdowns over CoVid, enforcing people in New Zealand, Australia, UK and other countries where they are punishing, fining people ridiculously amounts, abusing people for not wearing a mask! We may live to see real war on American soil. Right now Turkey 's President is livid with President Macron of France for insulting islam! Turkey's President speaks for the entire Islamic world! In the Holy Bible in the book of Revelation, it speaks about many mysteries and I am seeing through Agenda 2030, things that may come true while I am alive pertaining to Revelation and the Biden manifesto and what is happening globally. Many things will happen before we will see the antichrist who I believe will be jewish or a Muslim! I don't know when, but it looks like the middle east is that area. I wish to go to Heaven and be with my loved ones that have passed before me! I wish many will take The Holy Bible, Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ very seriously! I pray that I have not insulted you! But that's the whole reason! God bless you and your loved ones in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ! ✝️🛐🙏❤🇺🇸
