I might do the dry wall screws. The pin my table just came with is too small so it wobbles. And it's such an unusual size 2 3/4" wide. It's difficult to find any pin holders that accomodate it.... I just screwed the old blue 2 1/8" cheapy over the small mandrel hole.

Mark, what if the bench pin is too small for the slot (it came with the jewelers bench) and wouldn't you have all those screw holes when you have to get a new one?

Hi Leigh, It’s pretty common for the bench pin that comes with the bench to be either too small or too large, which is one of the reasons I like using the GRS Bench pins. You’ll need a mounting plate #118279 and the bench pin #113857. Those two items make changing or replacing bench pins very easy, plus you can use a bunch of other accessories. But, should you need to install the pin that’s too small. I most often take wood screws and screw it into place. I’ve tried wedging it to avoid drilling holes but the pin never seems to stay tight. I hope this helps.
