I was lucky- I had cool parents that let me watch the Carlin HBO specials starting when I was about ten years old. I finally got to see him live shortly before his death. You were the best.

My parents were the same way. Carlin was my favorite comedian. Funny thing my parents kind of encouraged me to watch him because of how insightful he was. My mom told me “you could learn a lot from him”.

I laugh at it because no one else would be rude enough to say this stuff. These are all things that we are so polite and sensitive about. And it's almost unbearable to think that our kids have no future. So its an ideal subject for humour - something no one would say. I cried with laughter the first time I watched this, though I can't say I agree with all of it.

I understand his frustration. I've been trying to wake up people for a large part of my life. It's exhausting. You have to be strong and able to keep motivated to not get bitter. Its a hard job. You often stand alone. Even when your surrounded by people it can feel alone.

Just six weeks before George moved onto the next plane. What a comic genius! When I first started listening to Carlin (early 70's), he made me laugh. In later years, he made me think. Love George!!

I got to meet him and go to his homestead and now i was one of his favorites but my mother loved him my mom went into a coma serious coma nobody could make her come out of it. Just by him showing up he actually woke my mom out of her coma. Any way i was trained just the same way right things down but now its waiting for its bad ass to get kicked.
