When we were 20, my best friend decided to get a 1000cc bike and go over 150mph pretty much on the daily and run away from cops as a hobby. He had it for about A MONTH and one weekend it was just me and him chilling on a Friday then Saturday night watching KZfaq catching up after I had been away at school. The next night (on Father’s Day) he evaded some cops and they decided to chase him around a nearby town, making him crash and die. I heard the news in the morning couldn’t come to grips with it for a couple hours. I then went to his house and it all hit. His father, a classic, tough as nails Italian guy, was absolutely broken and will never be the same. If he had never gotten on a motorcycle, we would have been friends for decades to come. He was always the life of the party and the ballsiest one of the group but now he’s just a memory. If you do decide to get on a bike, don’t just think about yourself dying, but all the people you will leave behind.

I've ridden motorcycle's for a little over 15 years on the streets. Had 3 big crashes, 2 being my fault and 1 wasn't. I was injured in all 3 crashes and have long term issues, however I'm fortunate to be alive and not in a wheelchair. I can honestly say I have a close call from people not paying attention almost every outing on my bike. I still ride, and if you ride..you understand. As a passionate biker myself, thank you for making this tribute and reminding me the dangers of riding. It always saddens me to hear about someone on a motorcycle dying. Will I stop riding? not likely, but I try to be as safe as possible while riding and it's good to be reminded about how seriously I need to be about paying attention and riding safe. Riding is a selfish pleasure of mine, but for the sake of my friends and family, I want to do what I can to minimize my risks while doing so.

I’ve been riding for 14 years. A lot of close calls over those years. A few spills that weren’t much of anything. As everyone older than me told me when I started, “It’s not if you go down, but when.” Of course, it’s also “and how severe?” Sad to hear. Be safe out there, 2-Wheelers.
@godofcod2day
@godofcod2day 2 жыл бұрын
It’s also selfish in the sense that you could potentially ruin someone else’s life if they hit u in the bike. If you suffered severe trauma just cause someone bumped you as they were changing lanes, then the guilt would eat them up. Driving a car instead of a motorcycle would make others less anxious. I lowkey hate how people on motorcycles could potentially cause me much guilt over a small mistake on the road I could make, just for a little fun.

I'm not a fear monger at all, but some of the most wicked deaths I've ever seen where dudes on bikes. Remember you can be the best rider in the world but it might be the other idiots on the road that get you killed. Never assume people know how to drive properly. Speaking as someone's who's been riding for 8yrs and still on going. No matter how defensive you ride, how loud or big your bike is, or even riding with a group, there are a lot of negligent drivers. Of course not all blame is on drivers, there are some dumb riders as well but the vast majority of close calls I have had and one major accident are all due to the drivers negligence. Unfortunately that's just how it is for riders, RIP to this young guy and becareful to those who ride.

Also in the PNW in a large city, people constantly use their cellphones and don't use signals. They drive in the left lane instead of passing too, meaning you need to unsafely pass in the right lane. It's scary the amount of people that don't even shoulder check. I think there is an inherent base level of risk when you ride just due to the fact you have no cage around you. How you ride determines how much risk others will pose to you, but there's always some chaos factor to how people will react. One thing I personally try to avoid is speeding around intersections and even cross streets. Drivers turning left is probably one of the most common accidents I've seen and heard of. People are just really bad judges of speed, and it gets worse the faster you go. This advice works not just for motorcycles but for cars too. Stay safe folks, and may Ryeley rest in peace.

Neighbour died on a motorcycle. Really nice guy, mid twenties. Wife and two kids that he provided for. Gone just like that.. didn't really know him but it really hurt to see what it did to his wife and kids. My dad has seen riding buddies wrapped around lamp posts. It's just not worth it. Especially if you're in to fitness. Even if you don't die, what if you crash and fuck up your knee, your shoulder, your back. I'd rather deadlift with bad form than ride a motorcycle.

wow, rest in peace Ryeley, always a huge loss when a young person dies, im only 23 but when i see people younger than me passing away it always makes me think of how lucky i am to still be alive, motorcycles are a huge passion, i myself would love to ride but my parents dont want to hear about it because my dad almost died in an accident, a driver lost it in a corner and sandwiched my dad between his car and a guard rail of a river dam, punctured lungs by his own ribs, two broken legs, learning how to walk all over again, it was so bad that the closest hospital refused to send ambulance to him cause they thought he would die by the time they arrive, thankfully guys from the next town gave it a shot, be safe out there guys

After 8 months of physical therapy and a diagnosis of MS (they found it due to head scans) I was luckily able to live to tell my story. I’m 30 now and I’m too afraid to buy another bike. When something is killing your friends, and you still do it, thats called an addiction. You really sound like you're talking about drugs. @@sleepyjo9340 not from mine and many others personal experiences. Motorcycle riders are drug addicts for adrenaline, and they die from it all the time. I’m friends with plenty of them and have lost a close friend. There’s very few motorcyclists I’ve seen that actually drive the speed limit that don’t weave around traffic like they own the road. Especially here in Michigan with our terrible roads, it’s borderline suicidal. “Heroin related deaths” in the us is 14k per year, motorcycle deaths are 5k per year. Few people do either of those things so it’s rather comparable.

My best friend died in a bike accident. Again, he wasn't speeding or driving like a lunatic, he caught a puddle of water and lost control of the unit, apparently the hit ruptured his spleen so badly that by the time he made it to the hospital, his condition deteriorated into a full respiratory arrest. I actually believed he was going to make it since at that time I've heard of a lot of people that had ruptured their spleens and did just fine, but apparently my dude had not only a ruptured spleen, had suffered massive blood loss, but his liver also got damaged. He died 3 days later. Since that day I went from simply not being a fan of Motorcycles to fucking hating them. There is absolutely no reason for people to take such a risk. If you accidentally crash your car, your chances of surviving are pretty good, especially if you follow the rules, but when you are on a bike, anything can kill you no matter how cautious you are. If you have the money to afford a car instead of a bike, get the damn car, you are going to thank me when bad luck strikes and something out of your power happens.
