Heavenly father, thank you for all the contributions, Steve made to our lives, I lift up his family and ask for peace for them, in this difficult time. Amen. I never met Riley, but I feel I knew him thru his work. And In that way I loved him. IT was very obvious he really understood what LA guns was to people. He carried the look, and imagery, and the essence, of the band. HIs sensibilities were obviously impeccable. He gave the fans a lot of love. Steve will always be one of my favorite figures in music,. I am very sad. JL

I caught L.A. Guns for the first time in 1989 at a place called "The Bowery" in West Palm Beach, Florida. Hurricane Alice opened up for them. They were promoting "The ballad of jane". They absolutely blew the roof off that joint!!!! The club was only supposed to have 500 people in the club, but I heard 1000 tickets were sold. It was standing room only!!!!! Their tour bus was parked right out front, with not a lot of security. I was outside after the show and ran into Steve and Tracii. They were both super cool and asked what I thought of the show. We talked for a few minutes and they asked me if I wanted to see the bus, as they wanted to change clothes. we hung out for a while and they talked about how grueling the touring was, but that they were happy how the record was doing with video being out for "The ballad of jane" and they told me they were going to make a video for "Never enough". I saw them 5 more times through the years and they always put on a stellar show. So sad to hear of Steve's passing. He was truly one of a kind!!!!

Such sad news. My old drummer just told me. We met him back early 90’s in Latham NY. My second time meeting him and LA Guns. Really a cool dude and a great drummer! As we are all getting up there in age, I’m watching friends and band dudes that I enjoyed die it’s rough… rest in peace. I wish your family peace as well.

I've loved L.A. Guns, for many many years and I've met Steve and hung out with him and Tracci on their bus probably in 97 or a bit later and anytime they came to NY he hooked me up with passes and backstage to hang with the band, he was always a super super cool guy and was always appreciative of his fans. It's very sad to hear of Steve's passing since he was very young. Thank you very much to you Jason for what you do and what you've done for Rileys L.A Guns. Steve was a good man, he will be missed. Thanks again Jason I enjoy your show very much.

I met Steve Riley a few years ago at a club called blackjacks in Morgantown Pennsylvania, went up to them after the show, and told him a story about L.A. Guns coming to Jim, Thorpe, Pennsylvania, and my friend that was alive at the time was actually handling LA GUNS and escorting them around the town and area actually came to my parents house looking for me to introduce me to LA GUNS and I wasn’t home and I told that story to Steve and he lit up like a Christmas tree. He was very cool and appreciative of that story. That’s my story of Steve Riley. R.I.P. Steve

Saw him with the B'zz in the early 80s. He played at a club west of Chicago and he had a large gold sparkle Ludwig kit and his playing floored me. The band sounded amazing. My friend was dating the singer's sister and we crashed at the singer's house after the show. Woke up and was watching wrestling and cartoons with Steve, sharing leftover pizza. He showed me a blue sparkle Ludwig kit he had for sale but I was a broke teenager. Nice kit tho. He was a slamming player and a solid guy. His work with LA Guns was what kept me interested in drumming while I was serving in Germany. I wore those cassettes out. He served the music so well. May he rest in eternal peace.

I just watched your great interview with Steve before coming here. First... RIP Steve and condolences to his family and friends. I was a big WASP fan and saw Steve perform with them during The Last Command tour. I really dug Steve's vibe. He had a great stage presence. I remember being upset when Tony got fired and thought he was irreplaceable at the time but Steve showed up and instantly forged his own identity. You don't work as long and consistently as Steve did without ability and personality. He will be missed.
