Here's an exclusive rare interview of
Rita Marley who got interviewed by
Tom Ashbrook during his radio program WBUR FM/ (On Point) while she promoted her autobiographical book
"No Woman, No Cry: My Life With
Bob Marley."
Info: When Bob Marley sang
"No Woman No Cry" on tour, often with his wife Rita Marley singing backup, he would often use its tender lyrics to mend their fitful marriage. In many ways, Rita Marley was the woman from Trenchtown in her husband's famous song. They married when she was 19. He was 21.
She was with him at the beginning. She was with him at the end. In between was a bond of music, four children, and a marriage whipped by the highs and lows of Bob Marley's stardom. After his death in 1981, Rita Marley went on with her own music career and a rich embrace of development projects in Africa. Now she's written a memoir of her life, and life with Bob Marley.
This program aired on June 4, 2004.

Listen to this interview and hear this queen story, I respect her. I don’t understand how Cindy thinks she should be the highlight of his life. This woman is the ultimate champion of strength and integrity. She was with him from the beginning to the end of his life. And she doesn’t even behave as Cindy does…crave attention.

It's the deep psychological need that equates for him stability, self knowledge, (Comfort)emotional bonding,... and other depth parts of the soul.In this case, Rita looked and had great qualities like his mom. On the other hand, When you see a man unable to leave his mom's house, and live on his own or replace mom with a wife of his very own-- don't judge, there are psychological reasons behind it. Bob loved Rita deeply no matter what anyone says. It was a spiritual+psychological+emotional bond soul love.

Rita Marley has always been the best communicator in the family and well spoken and articulate, nothing new. I read her book published in 2004, No Woman No Cry - it was funny and serious at the same time. Maybe you should read it and there's no criticism for the movie. It is what it is. Rita was on the set of the movie so she gave it her stamp of approval. Lots were left out of the Movie but that's not on Ziggy it was the Director who cut it out for whatever reason. Maybe a Part 2 will be forthcoming.

I find Rita Marley to be very hypocritical , she do more for Ghana, do something for Jamaica. The museum is where you made a revenue off it’s a shame I don’t understand she is not Jamaican she’s Cuban so I guess you can’t expect much from her . I do give her credit for keeping Bob Marley spirit alive. Also in the same sense of that she’s making a lot revenue off his name . I’m talking the truth, people might come at me but this woman is not for anything in Jamaica , yeah everybody saying finding they roots, her children were born in Jamaica Well do more for Jamaica away from getting revenue from the museum . Now they have a Bob Marley restaurant in the Montego Bay airport which also giving a revenue going into the Bob Marley foundation for her and his children. Underplayed legend Bob Marley that he had deep love relationship for her , after Stephen was born she had Stephanie with another man, it was said Bob is a womanizer, but what do you call her she was still married . The married was of convenience To her I said it. she is lying sorry to say but her and her aunt knew that if she didn’t marry him before he go to America he probably wouldn’t come back to her
