Playing this in VR will fulfil a decades-old dream, even more so than Myst VR (which was already epic).

Honestly, I can't believe this is happening! The experience I had playing Myst and Riven was life-changing and I also bought all of the books, reading them over and over to absorb the stories of the D'ni . I'm struggling to put into words how special this is. Just...thank you!

I have a Moiety dagger tattoo on my inner arm. The first time I declined to go on summer vacation with my parents was when I got Riven for the PS1 (I didnt have a cpu till around Exile). I was a teen but I didn't throw a wild party - I stayed up all night and day playing Riven. It's an experience that's stayed with me all these years. Thank you team Cyan for back then and the team working to bring it back now.

Ah the memories. I played Riven back when I was a teen. It had been out for a while, and living in a poor family I had checked out the guide book from the library several times years earlier just because of the amazing artwork and then immersed myself in the lore and feel of this alien world. When I finally played it I was completely entranced. My brothers and I all participated in trying to solve the puzzles and when we got to the end screen we were all super excited to see what would happen. I love the Myst novels also! So good and so mysterious and so full of things to imagine for a young mind.

I was at a specific age where Riven was one of the first games I ever played on our family Mac. It holds such a special place in my heart. It seems like a dream to be able to finally explore it in 3D.

officially coming with VR support... considering Firmament's troublesome performance in VR it looks like I may want to upgrade my rig for this.

Once I experienced Myst in VR, I thought about how cool it would be to do a "blind" play-through in VR. However, the most that can be done is to change the access keys to the linking books, because once the secrets of the game are discovered, it's impossible to forget, which is why to this day I haven't finished Riven. I then discovered the Starry Expanse Project, and at that point I promised myself I would never continue playing Riven until I got my hands on the VR version, even if it took 5 or more years, because I want to unlock the remaining secrets of the game like I'm actually there. I'm so excited!

Didn't play the originals back in the day, entered the whole world with Myst in VR and since then, I just want to play the others in VR only as well. I even bought the originals on Steam, but I won't touch them unless I've played a VR version respectively. Can't wait for this! :)

i was in a store and seen this thick game case that said Riven, pack your bags, you will be away for a long time. I seen it had 5 disks. I went home and the music grabbed my soul nearly as hard as the first time i took the hanging tram to another island. I still listen to the OST on my playlist. Thank you for Riven. ......a fan

Been waiting a long time for this. When the Myst VR game came out, i was just counting the days til you announced this. This is my childhood and seeing this in VR would be a cream come true. My first experience with Myst was the board game. I just loved all the added props that made it feel more like an ARG. It was closely followed by playing the DOS version of Myst, and i couldn't put it down since. Every time i see a new remake or remaster i just have to check it out.

I don't even know how many times I've watched this over and over. I am SO excited for this. I don't know what kind of advertisement they had for the original release of this game but I am really going to enjoy any little bit that comes out about it this time. I am counting the minutes. Already commented on this once but I'm still excited about it. Trying to NOT get too hyped about it to the point it'll never be able to reach my expectations but I'm having a lot of trouble. Just excited to see that same D'ni room again. Curious as heck about additions to the game but I don't even care. Just want to be back in this world again. It's already my favorite game of all time and I have a feeling it's only going to get better.

Wish I had a VR to play this in. I've been wanting one for so long but a lot of "more important" things keep getting in the way. This is my favorite video game ever and I'm so excited to get back into it. Even if it's just the 2D experience. I just hope it feels the same way as playing the original back in the day. Or even better.

Extremely excited for Riven to be remade. Myst was a fantastic remake and I am so grateful it was made, but Riven is so deep and ambitious that I am even more stoked to be playing it. For some reason I never ended up playing Riven since I played it as a kid, so the remake will seem even more fresh to me personally.

YES!! I've been waiting for this since 1997!!! One of my favourite games of all time hands down, I can't wait!

I am so pumped to share this game that was formative for me with my kids, nieces and nephews.

When I saw the box for Riven on the shelf in the 90s, I was intrigued. My mother bought us the gift set for Myst the same night since we wanted to play that before Riven, and we were hooked instantly. Would have never got to play this amazing series if Riven hadn't stood out from all the other games next to it. I cannot wait for this remake!

Awesome, looking forward to it. My dream wishlist for this remake: Have the original live action option on launch, add more to the world, make it feel more lived in, new puzzles and lore. All puzzles randomised option, I mean all of them, even the animal stone combination, how awesome would it be to find a different animal shape in a totally different location; impossible, but it would be cool. Faster rotation room spinning would be nice, it always was painfully boring to wait for it to spin around if you were at an unskippable doorway, no idea why a couple were like that. Keep up the great work Cyan. 🙂

I've always been convinced that if someone ever finally invents a working Holodeck, the very first adventure needs to be the Myst series! Riven was actually the first of the series I played. I learned of the Myst series from Games magazine what seems like a hundred years ago. Every year they had the "Games 100" issue that featured the best games of that year. Original Myst was the first computer game to win Game of the Year (#1). After reading about it, I've been hooked ever since!

Oh shiiiit - amazing! My soul is so ready! The most exciting part of this, though, is that this potentially means they might do Myst III: Exile, which is THE game I grew-up with and am excited about the most! Everyone: buy this so that they keep doing these VR remasters! 🙏🙏

My favorite game of all time. In 40+ years.

I remember in middle school, a classmate had Riven and I had to beg him to let me borrow his 5-CD set so I could play the game. I did eventually get my own copy of the 5-CD set. I don't think I ever actually finished the whole game though. I am excited to experience the game in a new way though. I am so thankful to Cyan for being such a memorable part of my life.

Having never played Riven before, but absolutely loved Myst, I'm excited to experience this version. I do own Riven, but I'd rather wait to experience this version instead.
