This is the first part of my final journey along the River Thames. In many ways it was the hardest part. Simply because the landscape was pretty uninspiring. The first half was through industrial areas and a massive lorry park. The second half was quite flat and uneventful as far as countryside goes.
Gravesend was surprisingly pleasant and lively and there was some interesting historical structures along the way.
I would not recommend visiting Grain it really is at the end of the world! But having said all that I am really glad that I have walked all the way along the River Thames - from source to sea.
