The guy is delusional………….Carbs not balanced, it’s puffing out blue smoke and he thinks it’s 250bhp……Lol………It needs a full rebuild and £00000’s throwing at it to get it to 250bhp…….In that condition he will be lucky to get 140-150bhp on the dyno. C20XE fully built Touring Car engines only made 280-290 bhp and they cost tens of £0000’s. Think this guy has had a bang to the head or is on the snow lol.

I had one of those 2.0 16v, they were called so here in Belgium (also named Opel Kadett); Freaky fast car, I was then 22 years old. Did once a run to Italy In less then 10 hours, all the way flat-out. It was the Era before cams, speeding agents etc..... I had changed the front diff, Bilstein suspension and some seam welding. Still kick myself of fever selling that car.....

Great car, don't think I would do much to it, stop any rot/sort greasy bits n leave. Looks great as is and if going to be used for stages, it'll never be perfect. Rolling resto's are brill, people get to see them, you get to smile at the attention/appreciation, win, win.

I had one in 1995 thought I was the fastest thing on the road with 150 bhp if I was lucky. My insurance was 900 pounds which was a great deal to me back then for 3rd party fire and theft only. Was a great car loved the experience of owning one, but I moved up to a carton 3000 gsi 24v which made the Astra look slow. But that got stolen within 3 months :( Then I found it hard to get insurance on anything good :( My advice if you can just afford it, go for it.

I miss my 16v astra....mine was chipped and fast as fook! I drove it like I stole it and it was amazing on fuel! and it was very easy to drive. Someone stuffed me up the rear one day sat at a junction which I swore at till I couldn't speak any more and that way bye bye Astra.... I've never had a car like it since...rip lol.

My late father had one in the early 90s 2litre GTE in Red sadly it was stolen by some d-head as back then if you had a fast hot hatch it would get stolen, they literally used an angle grinder to cut the garage lock off at 3am then nicked it 😢 never saw thst car again , i remember when i was in it as a child my dad could fo 3rd gear wheelspins 😂 it was cool 😎👍

I remember I was going to buy a 16v when I was 18 in 1993 and no insurance company would touch me, Bstards. so I ended up with a Audi coupe GT5s and insurance was £1500 a year. I loved that Audi.
