I have the same roadpro for about 12 years, use every day. Using a dc wattmeter, I measure about 11 amps during startup but it drops to about 9 amps once it warms up. Almost everything cooks in about 15 minutes, the only time it takes longer is if its frozen. In 15 minutes it uses about 4 to 5 amp hours. When I cook my food I just use aluminum foil (which I doubled), which is thinner and I think since all the surface is touching the metal areas it is more efficient. Also recommend the 12 volt cigarette flimsy plug is replace with a more efficient connector I use the xt60 (handles up to 60 amps) . and cut the thin wire close to the unit and replace with thicker gauge (12 gauge) so all the amps go to the heating element. You will notice the original thin gauge wires they use get very hot during use (wasting heat) . With a better connector/ thicker wire, the unit runs hotter cooking quicker. I opened mine up and there is practically nothing inside that will break, all the weak areas are outside the unit which is the plug and also the locking handle (mine broke off years ago) , once plug is upgraded it will last forever.

I bought my Road Pro (Same model as yours) almost 3 years ago. Never used it until this week. Started watching some videos here for ideas. Based on the literature for my Goal Zero Yeti, my 12v outlet maxes out at 10 amps which is why I never attempted to use my Yeti to power the Road Pro. Then I watch you power the Road Pro with your Jackery like a champ for 30 minutes. Mine shut off when it reached 10 amps in the units display. I looked up the info, and the Jackery 240 is supposed to max out at 10 amps as well, but your's didn't. Very Confused here, but glad that yours works well

I’m surprised that the Jackery 240 powered the Road Pro. The Jackery 240 12V plug is rated at 10amps while the Road Pro is 12V 12 or 13amps. I’ve heard power stations burning out cause the Road Pro drew over the capacity or the Road Pro burning out cause it wasn’t getting amperage.

The Road Pro needs a dedicated 15amps. I’m surprised the jackery 240 worked.

I just got a Road Pro 12 volt portable roaster, the one with the glass lid and plugged it into my bluetti 200 acmax 12 volt outlet and as it continued to draw power the alarm went off on the bluetti and the roaster shut down. I notice now my bluetti says the 12volt outlet is only 10 amps. The road pro is 15 amps. How many other 12 volt appliances won't work in my 12 volt bluetti outlet now.? I don't know much about electricity. I figured anything that said 12 volt would work in a 12 volt outlet. I didn't know there were different amps to those.

you did not put water in the bottom of the roadpro you will scorsh the bottom
