For anyone working on a ZF pan: 7lbs is NOTHING. Like, scary untight. Safer to just spin the screws in with your hand holding the T-bit socket, not the ratchet. Then, once it stops spinning by hand, grab the ratchet and do a 1/8 turn. Done. That's all they take. You're playing a risky game trying to torque wrench a value that low.

Get a new torque wrench!! Don't drop it, keep in case and always set to 0 after every use.

Word of advice.... anytime you are tightening bolts to torque spec that are a small amount example let’s say 7ft lbs always use a inch pounds torque wrench instead. Usually the 3/8 drive torque wrenches from HF seem to not feel the tightness. Don’t know how to explain it. Trust ... I know this first hand of how using a inch pound 1/4 drive wrench is best when tightening bolts that have a low number spec.

Make sure before you think it's a engine oil sump leak, clean the engine throughly then double check as the oil filter housing can cause this. Dont wana see you waste your time and money

Your torque wrench may be uncalibrated. Probably way off if you snapped bolts.

Bolts should be torqued to 9 Nm/6.6 ft-lb using low torque 1/4" wrench for aluminium bolts.
