In Germany some of our Fendt tractors do drive around 95% on street with these tires(1500-1800 hours per year) Tires will last about 4000-5000 hours. Streets aren’t a big problem for tractor tires

It's the long road trips that are hard on tires. Lots of little short trips aren't bad but the long drives heat the tires up and thats where the extra wear comes from. It's very minimal though.

Ag tire wear on roads is highly dependent on tire pressure. If tires are aired down for increased traction they flex more and thus create more heat. Somewhere I saw a chart for tires that gave load rating and max speed for every psi of inflation pressure. This is a bigger deal for farms in wet, soft areas.

Mike, I’m with you on diesel emission regulations. If the government forces def then they should make it work. Same with egr and dpf. Thrusting the added cost of an unreliable system on the trucking, ag, and other industries is just wrong. Unfortunately it would take a highly organized campaign of citizens to get any results.

3:53 There are 2 different kinds of wear on your tires associated to driving on tarmac, as far as I am aware. The first is, as you mentioned the abrasion on the tire profile. The other one and perhaps the more concerning one is the wear on the flanks/walls of the tire. Tractor tires usually have less pressure in them for more contact surface with the ground and more traction. With every rotation, the tire deforms. At high speeds (as on road trips), the tires make more rotations per minute and the rubber stretches and contracts more often. The tires get warm, the rubber ages quicker and becomes brittle. I've seen you check the temperatures on your augers on longer road trips. The issue is the same...
@mikeznel6048
@mikeznel6048 2 жыл бұрын
That's why you inflate the tires for long road trips amd deflate when you're back off road or doing limited reading.
@eltontv6002
@eltontv6002 2 жыл бұрын
You're supposed to change the pressure in the tires. There's automatic pressure systems like Fendt vario Grip. All tires are connected to valves and you can change the pressure over the tractor terminal. That's great for changing fields or transport work

If you breach 15 seconds of trying to turn the engine with the starter motor you are severely heating up and taking away the life of your starter motor. I know sometimes you cant get by without running the starter a long time, you got her going fast in this video but ive seen you lean on the key to start wayyyy to long before. But even here in Germany you have up to minus 10 degrees and the 724 hardly started at 0 degrees and that’s so hard on stuff .that should go better

The DEF is easily deleted as is all the pollution stuff . AND oh does the fuel economy improve AND oh the extra power even though the HP programming is the same

It looks alot like me driving from Wisconsin to say Minnesota. Same friendly folks. Same kids weather. My son and his buddies took the 9600Deere with dual through the Dairy Queen once. Tight fit but they had to do it. I think you opinion is falling on DEF ears.

In my work in Sweden we have 14 pieces (European) Ford Ranger 3.2 TDCi diesels full spec Wildtrak and used as First Responder vehicles at Fire Department. No one is older than 3 year and all (ALL) of them have been to guarantee service to change nearly every part concerning AdBlue/DEF and also the auxillarilly heater. We have also double plugs for electric intake and double batteries because fire-personell take them home or to main job as these cars are for Part-time Fire stations. Ford doesn't allow us to have communications/nav/computer on when car is parked because they can't have "so" much draining from standard battery even for shorter time. ---- Cost for Ford dealer service (we don't have to pay) must be a lot over $10 000 for each of them! [Ps. And now starts all "rotary things" give up also! None is over 50 000 km!!! In my eyes Real junk pickups and not made for professional duty. ] And nice to see our take away breakfasts are cheaper here in Sweden!

If the manufacturers got together and said,nope we aren't doing that and we ran out of parts,service and motorized equipment, trucks and heavy equipment as well as Ag they would have to rethink the stupid def laws!

Because the manufacturers are all still making money. Sure, there's more upfront costs, but they pass them on to the customer anyway. They're getting paid behind all of this stuff, so they don't care.
