I bought this used in 2019 . Due to this video and a few other reviews .. After 2 months of driving it I can honestly say THIS CAR IS A DREAM.. I love it .. This car reminds me of my 95 Pontiac Grand Am . Fun to drive, good looking, comfortable , loaded with features still relevant in 2019 . If you are wondering if you should buy this model and this year Id say ABSOLUTELY GO FOR IT ..

Same man, I've the diesel 2.2 180BHP and it pulls like a train. Over here the only other options would be a Passat, A4, Mondeo etc. but the sporty handling and looks just makes it a gem. Sad that there's no aftermarket for the mark 2, I'd love to put in a bigger intercooler and cold air intake.

This is why I used to love driving my Mazda Protege. Handling was awesome which made it fun to drive and it hugged the road really well. I always felt safe in that car. I got a chevy cobalt now but sometimes I wished I stuck with Mazda.

This car, with minor exterior modifications (note: not ricing, not a bodykit, etc) looks amazing. I've also seen a coupe rendition of this car and it looks amazing.

@RAMSBONES i'm 6'5" and there is PLENTY of room. I don't even have to scoot the seat up when I want other people as tall as me in the back seat. I checked before i bought. However I do have to say the sunroof does lower the headroom, so I didn't get the sunroof option on mine.

The engine sounds good. It would be awesome if they could make this a rear driver. I know that probably would never happen, but still would be cool to see.

For SimpsonTide985, The 6i auto-sportmatic 0-60 is 7.9 seconds. 6s auto-sportmatic 0-60 is 7.1 seconds, 6s manual 0-60 is 6.4 seconds. Some people put on drag tires on the 6s and get 6.1 seconds.

The 6 exceeds the accord/camry in interior and trunk room, and styling. Sadly the stickshift is only available on the 4cyl Please someone care to tell me why I should get the accord and camry over this.
@Maxfli8215 жыл бұрын
I had the previous 6. The best car I ever drove. I loved that car until I had to sell it this year. This new one looks even better. Don't know about driving it though, the last one was about the perfect size for me. About 8/10 the size of a camry and 9/10 size of accord. This new one looks huge, but I'm sure Mazda did theri market research and it's what americans want.

What about a Mazda 9 (All new Millenia) , something to compete with the Maxima and the Avalon, I think that it is time for Mazda to venture back into that market since they have gotten their sales up within the last 10 years to show off theri progress

I think the Mazda 6 Grand Touring V6 is enough to compete against those near luxury models too. It certainly drives like a Maxima and even an Acura TL (front-wheel-drive model). The Avalon is too floaty and big.

No, Motor Trend and other popular magazines do not consider reliability for and of their reviews, which is clearly a major fault.
@americansmark13 жыл бұрын
@Zhorellski The 6 was never about being fast. Its a canyon carving sport sedan. I own a first gen and can shame just about anything in the twisties. Not the best at the drag strip, but I didn't buy it for that. The new motor is a Mustang motor though, so its nothing to look down on. Get some tuning and a couple bolt-ons and this car will come alive.

Not quite Relly. Ford owned over 50% of Mazda in the early 90s, however over time Mazda has been buying shares back to where last year Ford only owned around 34%. Then at the end of last year Ford were trying to offload almost all of their remaining shares in Mazda because they need the money. Strange when Mazda is one of the most profitable arms of the Ford empire... Don't worry, Mazda's heart is still very firmly ingrained in Japan, otherwise it would not be as good as what it is.... ;-)
@bg137915 жыл бұрын
That may be true, but JD gives some very "wierd" reviews out, like the Jag S Type being one of the best in its class, when CLEARLY they are not. Also, I remember, the MB E winning a quality award, when common sense tells you nothing coming out of MB is best in its class for quality. No wonder Consumer Reports is the most trusted source . . .

I wish Mazda would come out with a Mazda 6 coupe to show off. I bet it would knock Honda Accord coupe and the Nissan Altima coupe
@lowincash15 жыл бұрын
well i think you need to wake up then...many cars are creeping their way up in having good build and quality. sure accords and camry's are top sellers and they're everywhere. it's just not as exciting seeing an accord or camry than the new mazda6. there are people out there that don't want a boring car ya know.
@bg137915 жыл бұрын
It is a different car, but keep it shares many underpinnings and the same engineers designed both. This is how Toyotas, Lexuses, Hondas, and Acuras have a REPUTATION for building considerably reliable vehicles. Land Rover, for example, has a reputation for building poor quality vehicles because all of their vehicles come out with poor reliability. More people should consider reliability when purchasing, as it makes a huge difference. All cars are not created equal!

I purchased this exact car back in 2009. My hopes for this car were high but in reality it turned out to be a complete and utter failure! The gas mileage with the V6 was terrible. Worse still was the operation of the V6 engine. It knocked so bad very time the engine was under load. The unpleasantness peaked when the dealership couldn’t fix it! I was so disappointed and leery of catastrophic engine failure that in 2010 I traded it in on a Honda Accord V6 and never looked back. No more “zoom-zoom” for me!

haha, this is funny, and not in a good way, I confess myself a mazda owner (not this one) and fan, and honestly who understand you people when the first generation mazda appeared all people liked it but then most said "no this is way to small for me" or "to slow for america", the fact is 212 hp is does not make a slow car. Then this fantastic 6 comes along and you people say, o "no this is way to biggy, fatty and heavy to me", we should get the smaller, lighter less powerful european one, damn!
