In this video I demonstrate how to cut and prepare a fresh sunflower to roast on the grill.

Sunflower bud is like a corn on the cobb and it should be white because it is soft 🌻⚪⚪⚪➡🌽 And you put butter on it 🌻➡🧈

I want to try to grow sunflowers this spring! Probably I should be starting a seedling very soon.

@@myexcellentadventures9588 ❣wonderful! How long did they take to grow from sowing to harvest, and how did you know when to pick them so the seeds wouldn't get hard? What advice can you give on growing? I'm nervous to harvest too late 🥴

The seeds were white and soft when we cut the flower. You can see them under the little tiny yellow flowers on top of them. Took the basic 90-100 days to get seeds..have to wait till seeds are turning black on the ends to harvest for regular seeds..dry in paper bags.

Just the seed part. 🌻 Make sure when you pick them they are still young and fresh and the seeds will be white and very soft.

We ate them. 😋 They are young and tender like corn.

You don't shell them, you eat them like corn on the cob 😋. The sunflower is young and not mature, so the seeds are soft like corn. We grilled the whole sunflower with olive oil and salt and then you eat it.
