I've seen a few Americans now asking if racism in the UK has calmed . Thing is racism really isn't that bad when compared to America. Put it this way . A black person born in the US is an African American A black person in the UK is British. Never heard anyone of any creed or colour being called African British or Chinese British.. Although Americans are still yanks 🤣. People that are new to the country usually are described by where they came from

In general racism isn’t overt in the UK, but anyone that thinks it don’t exist doesn’t have their eyes open. I work in public service and the racism I see daily is ridiculous. Some days I swear I have to pinch myself to just smile and keep my gob shut. The thing is, people are so ignorant of racism they think racism is calling a black person N***** or a Asian a P***. It’s far more subtle than that, and people just don’t understand it. I still get people on the daily telling me the reason Britain is falling apart is because Brexit and refugees coming to Britain.

Good video. I admire the humility in your reaction. America, I believe, is a vast and beautiful country full of normal people who want to live normal, happy lives. Unfortunately I think there's mass brainwashing going on and most people don't even realise it. No matter what the media or politicians or Hollywood claim, t's not always necessary to be the winner (one will never learn humility otherwise) or the richest (there's more value in loving thy neighbour) or the buffest (puh-lease!) or the most beautiful (looks fade but character grows). America is supposed to be the land of the free, but how free are its citizens really when they are only ever one unlucky health condition away from complete bankruptcy? When people value the right to bear arms over their children's right to life? When full time service staff have to rely on tips because their employers pay them a pittance well below the national minimum wage and it's not against the law for them to do so? That's not freedom. That's slavery. Makes me spitting mad for my American cousins.
@SimplySavageReactions
@SimplySavageReactions Жыл бұрын
Sad but true statement. It is the land of the free but only for the super rich. If you're not part of the 1% then you're subject to the definition of freedom changing everyday. I don't want to come off as a spoiled brat that's complaining because there is a ton of people that are in N. Korea that would literally give anything to enjoy the freedoms that I am blessed to have.

Yea, its so unfortunate that if another country we're to nuke us, it would be the innocent people who had nothing to do with the issue that will die. Idk maybe it's KARMA. Just like America has done on so many occasions. America is one of the biggest terrorist organizations ever yet we kill in the name of justice, freedom, and name it the war on terror so that we can sleep at night. How many innocent people have died by American bombs? Literally countless, women, men and children. Just going about their lives when suddenly there life is turned to a living hell for the last few seconds of what's left of it because America "FIGHTS FOR FREEDOM!" How many did Bush kill in Iraq? Sending troops to obliterate the country and its people because he claimed there were WMD's when he knew damn well it was a lie? So many murdered in cold blood. Omg it pissing me off just thinking about it.

I'm surprised that none of the people interviewed mentioned the US gun laws and the terrible consequences they inflict on so many US citizens. Surely the endless gun massacres in the US, resulting often in children and young people dying, are one of the very worst things about that country!

I lived 18yrs in the US. What I struggled with was that I felt I was surrounded by far too many people who neither knew of or cared about anything beyond their own local base, and certainly not beyond their own national borders. I soon became disenfranchised, thinking why should I care about a people who couldn't care less about others. Of course, I knew people who didn't fit this mould, and they were the ones I would gravitate socially towards (esp. those who used to come to the Irish pub I used to watch the Premier League matches in, many of them became my friends). My American wife, who has lived with me back here (Greater Manchester) for now 19yrs, does not disagree. She is particularly embarrassed by the "WOOOH! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!" brigade who have zero frame of reference with any other nation. She also laughs it off when she hears her countryfolk claim racism isn't as bad there as here, though I think that at the moment a great many white people either side are trying a lot harder to be as accommodating as can be. It always struck me personally that black and white mostly represented two separate world's over there in a way not nearly so much here. Oh, and too many of your Republican politicians and supporters are utterly insane in a way that our Conservatives, whilst often deplorable, aren't.

Black Lives Matter is not an organisation, but a concept. In the UK, racism is a shameful thing. Racists are disliked. Most people are not racist. We never had segregation here, a fact that shocked American soldiers in WWII, when they tried to throw black soldiers out of pubs and ended up in fights with the British. Here, you would never refer to someone as Asian or coloured. If someone is racist in public, someone will call them out on it. Any time racists have a protest, they will be outnumbered by the counter protest. We are appalled by the term African American. There is no equivalent term here. We are all just British. This is probably because black people have been part of Britain for thousands of years.
@SimplySavageReactions

It is both a concept and a global organization. They raised 90million dollars in 2020 with only 2 paid employees yet 50k volunteers! As far as racism, idk I just don't get it personally.

Take a look at 9B4M family and International Carl, both are black Americans who have been living and working in the UK, the first for just over two years and the second for over ten years I believe, they can give a better idea about what they have experienced as black people living in another country to their home country, I think Carl has made a video about this topic and 9B4M Family have been asked and have answered questions about how they have coped with any racial differences between the US and UK in their end of year summary for each year they have been living here, I hope this helps. @@SimplySavageReactions I know that many Americans strive to be rich, it seems to be what the "American Dream" is for most Americans, the thing with being rich is that the goal posts are moving all the time, not so long ago (only a few years) a million was seen by many as the goal to reach, now that amount sees you being comfortable, sadly in the US that lack of medical security means that most never achieve being secure, it's a terrible place to be in so many ways (I mean the insecurity not the US), perhaps having a talk with Midwest Americans Ethan and Angela might help, they came over to here last year and they are looking to do so again, yes they got some help from family etc, but just talking might give you a better idea of what is needed and what is actually possible, they were here just over two weeks and they packed so much in in that time despite the jet lag, I think they could put you on the right track so far as giving you the advice you need and far better than most too, they are lovely people so don't worry about asking them, I'm sure that they will be happy to give you any advice they can and I'm sure once you make it here we would be more than happy to help you too, I certainly would be :)

A up SS, loved the format and vid. I have had friends in the US that i have sadly lost touch with after a death of a friend over there. One of the biggest issues when brits are asked about other countries is their view can be scewed by the media reprisentation of that country, not just the us, its the same with germany, france, pick a country. I enjoyed the, now commonplace on your channel, honesty in your reaction. america as a whole, media, reprisentation everying included would be there is a huge measure of social differences soley due to the size of america. I couldnt rightfully say what i think of america as a whole because of this divergence of character but the people i have spoke to and the things i have learned about those people I have found that they were polite, enthusiastic about anything they were doing and they grafted. this could be to the culture over there of everything has a monetairy value and thus everything needs money. one gentilman was of native american decent, when his ex wife couldnt take care of his daughter anymore he was required to go through the adoption system to care for his daughter. just to show an example of a difference to the uk, but again we don't have the same situation here in the uk, not saying its right but its different. of all the americans i have met I have found them really interesting to talk toand my friend over here in the uk is marrying a US ex pat in the future and i often speak with him and he is a highly intelligent and polite man who apologises way to much haha. people need to take measure of the people in the country they have spoke to and remember that the media always scews things one way or another and its exactly what the uk media does aswell. not too sure if that was on point with the vid but lack of sleep and head knackered due to MDD. have a great one man hope you and your family are doing well over there

How is one a smart arse from just stating facts? The facts are chinas population is 1.412 billion and they make 30% of the pollution of the world. India population is 1.408 billion, and their number is 7% of the world pollution. India is growing in their industrial size, and this will only go up in the future. These poorer countries will use fossil fuels as they are easier to use and cheaper, so everything we are doing in the west is for nought. We are demonising fossil fuels and driving up its demand, and thus, it's prices and creating a cost of living crisis from it. Our world leaders won't be happy until we are under their boot while they fly around in their private jets, as we are struggling to survive on a daily basis. The rich will lecture us and tell us to stay home to save the planet, while they live the high life and do as they please jetting around visiting their friends, families and many houses/mansions as we freeze to death and can't get to work, as they have taken our cars off of us. @@SimplySavageReactions the history Yeah. We are still basically Romans, Romans ruled Britain for 400 year. , They built roads, gave us law and order, Brought new foods in, gave us a coin currency system, (On our very first coins in Britain is Constantine the 3 emperor of York) They also gave us our name , Britain before that our island was called Albion ,. And we were Albion's , They called the islands Britannia and called us brittons, They gave us religion too we had witchcraft, local deities and druids over here till the Romans Christianised us , Romans also gave us Christmas, They had a. Winter festival called saturnalia Were they used to party ,. Drink, feast, and exchange presents, ow and they used to wear paper crowns, It was a celebration to the Roman god Saturn, They changed it to Christmas in which we Brits, party, drink, feast , exchange presents and wear paper crowns, Also the Romans that were over here for 400 years some intermarried with British women Leaving Brits with a little Roman DNA , And we have over here in a town called bath One of the only intact Roman baths in the world it's beautiful place to visit, Each year we find more Roman forts cities artifacts coins, So yeah we have so much history and still we are basically romanized without knowing or even thinking about how much of our everyday lives is very Roman like, Remember before the Romans showed up we had conquered nothing then the Romans show up show us how to use boats to conqueror, give us military structure, And we conqueror more than they could ever dream of, Sorry to rabbit on but yeah i never noticed until now how verry Roman Britain still is

There's is obviously racism here but no where near the scale of the USA, not even close. The thing in this country is a class divide. The government take care of the rich and the working class stick with each other and the working class is made of many shades. Half of us have more in common with immigrants than we do with our politicians. I'd say the Muslim folk get the most abuse racially but the most of that was caused way back, Muslim folk were invited over and for some reason the governments involved didn't think about the MASSIVE culture clash that was about to happen. Different religions, languages, and culture, we were like aliens to each other, of course now time has passed and ppl know more now so it's not as bad but it's still there.

To me, there are three parts to the USA: The country, the people, and the government. The country is the foundation of everything. It's beautiful (mostly), with plentiful resources. It's massive, which means plenty of space. The people are people with all the greatness and weaknesses that comes with it. Headlines are grabbed by tiny minorities, whilst the majority stand there bemused, wondering what's going on. I know a lot of Americans, and they are generally nice people. Some show faults and flaws, but hey, nobody is perfect. I'd rather have a bunch of Americans with me than people from certain other countries. Government is a problem. If it ran as intended 250 years ago, it would be great, but it has been taken over by corruption and extremism. Right and Left wing extremists have taken over and have polarised the people so that they have turned against each other. Remember that Hitler, Lenin and many others with extreme political views took power by controlling the media and education, and used group identity politics to marginalise the opposition. When that happened, it never ended well. I wish you well in the undeclared civil war that is happening for control of the government.

We Brits have been hearing forever how America is the greatest country in the world. But that's just Americans being patriotic, something we in the UK are not allowed to be. And everytime there is yet another 'catastrophe' as there was in Memphis last week, then the U.S goes even further down in ours and the rest of the world's estimation. We're seeing here, videos of L.A. and San Francisco and around the U.S. West Coast, Third World tent cities of homeless people. And yet The U.S claims to be the richest country in the world. I think that your 2nd Ammendment is a problem to everyone else around the world. Do your people really need to visit Walmart with a military sized weapon strapped over their back while shopping. This frightens us. Iv'e visited the U.S six times and loved every moment. And I like how your people fly their flags, which we can't as it seemingly offends other people in our over crowded Island. @Dee John It's cheap and nasty just flying any flag. Never heard of any council banning the flying of a flag but why would anyone want to fly a flag on a dust cart? The Yanks need reminding where the live hence they fly them all the time. They even break their own flag codes

@@monza1002000 ...I forgot to mention that it is often during England's Soccer campaigns (World Cup & Euros) that we break out into a bit of patriotic flag waving including adourning them on dust carts and taxis which many local Muslim Councils tried to outlaw. Unbelievable. So you don't like your English flag, assuming you're English. So I'll leave you to read the rest of your woke lefty Guardian newspaper. To hate your own flag says everything about you.

The USA ? Vast and in a way `free.` But the only real difference between the freedom of a US citizen and a UK `subject` is the right to carry weapons ( of almost any size and description, it seems to me ). The Monarch is our Head of State, but this doesn`t impede our freedom in any meaningful way. It also seems a rather odd freedom to have - the right to bear arms. If us over here suddenly had that right bestowed upon us I`d never dare go out after dark, because we have not grown up with the access to weaponry available to our sundered kin yonder. We lack the experience of a gun culture. Americans, then, have the freedom to carry weapons whilst we have the freedom to walk our streets knowing that it is very unlikely we shall be coming across dangerous people armed to the teeth. I envy US citizens in a way, and am not ashamed to say it. Whilst we were a member state of the European Union I knew I was free to quit, cut out and drop out and just go wandering through Europe on a `grand tour.` Now I cannot. But US citizens may wander for thousands of miles unseen..... I wish I could do that. Essentially I feel suffocated now, in the UK. But I suppose I have one consolation. When I want to see a brand new building I can and when I want to see an 800 year old building I can...... But it`s not just the building, it`s the ideas that prevailed in that time reflected in the design and construction of these ancient walls around us. Having said that this applies all over continental Europe, in which I truly have lost out. I grew up in a small town where there`s a 1000 year old church. At one point some `postman` would have galloped on horseback up to its doors, dismounted and ran up the transept announcing the Fall of Constantinople. I appreciate England, knowing this. A chap in this video mentions New York. I`ve been to New York City. `a very friendly place to me. I know that it has quite the reputation amongst the rest of its fellows - Americans - of being rather an abrupt sort of place, and I did get a taste of that whilst I was there. It wasn`t long before Christmas, 1992 and I was on 5th Ave. I saw a exquizitely made and finished model of The Last Supper and knew someone back here in England that I`d have loved to have given as a gift..... so I went into the shop and asked the chap how much this object was on sale for. $5,000 - in 1992. Sadly I had to leave empty handed. But the fellla more or less said to me, "If you`re not going to buy anything from me, then get outof my store.` But I also found very friendly people. I went into a shop and asked for an iced tea- something I`d never heard of before. Everyone in the shop started darting about looking for the fridge in order to bring to me an iced tea. I met a cowboy truck driver from Los Angeles, and we regailed as to which of the two of us were furthest away from home. All I had to do was talk and I made friends.

There's something massively wrong when you have metal detectors in schools, people going to the cinema/show wanting an aisle seat for an easy escape. You have the Walk/Don't Walk thing which is pointless if you can't speak English Other than the obvious like guns/medical system, etc, I would add,....Not Putting the Full Price on Items in shops, if something says it's 9.99 i expect to pay 9.99 like the rest of the world, it's ridiculous. If the tax changes from one shop to the next then who cares? Shop 1 will sell for 10 and shop 2 will sell for 11 because of tax but In the US Shop 1 + 2 will show the same price in your system but the tax is still added on at the till so it's not like you're saving money
@SimplySavageReactions

About the price thing, could you explain that a little more? Are you saying that when you see a price labeled on an item, that is all that you pay?
@MetalMonkey
@MetalMonkey Жыл бұрын
@@SimplySavageReactions Yes, include whatever tax is necessary and just label that item as that price. If a $5 item will cost you $5.50 when you pay for it, then just label it as $5.50 that way you know exactly how much it will cost. It's so much simpler for the shopper

Not a BLM supporter, first and foremost but I think some people are being silly. I read a lot about people having issues with the name and claiming it’s exclusive and therefore being the antithesis of “inclusive” and it insinuating that other lives don’t matter lol. I’m wondering if those same people have a problem with the Jewish defence league? Does that insinuate that other religious groups aren’t worthy of being defended? Or they don’t matter?Is it a smack in the face to Christians and Muslims alike? Or how about if you donate to cancer trust? Are you insinuating that HIV doesn’t matter and doesn’t deserve donations? I mean where does end? It’s “Black lives matter” not “Only Black Lives Matter” get a grip ffs

Different time zones is a weird objection to living in a country. I mean yeah it's big, that's why. If you drive across Europe you also cross three time zones. I like America and identify the difference between the international entity, you know, the USA and its deep state, as opposed to the country itself, the people you meet if you go there. In fact I found Americans generally to be very charming, inquisitive, generous and caring. I relate to the idea of the USA being like a teenager; it's an analogy I use myself. If you think about European nations, they are mostly centuries old and although the current countries may not precisely reflect the true nations, these are still very old societies. Then you think of the most ancient, China. China is a wise old man, Europe is a middle aged adult, the USA is 18, full of spunk and nonsense and _look at me!_ To progress, regular Americans must take back their democracy. This is also true of the UK. When your system is ultimately bipartisan, the protagomists become, as you say, 'two wings of the same bird', or as we say in Scotland, _'twa cheeks o' the same erse'._ I believe we all need to make this happen pretty soon the world over, or bad people will take full control.
