@@connorlowis4774 I had welding experience before I got hired. Although for you I think it would be worth while to talk to the local about getting yourself a welding ticket. Most have an inspector come in occasionally to do check tests and full ticket tests. Maybe they would let you in for one of those tests. But yeah, a welding ticket greatly helps. Good luck to you.

Soooooo...... this is merely "hanging" the iron, and another group follows up with the complete bolting together then followed up by welding? I will assume you are hourly wage earners, how does the pay work when you can't work because of weather? Do they just drop you down to a lower hourly wage and keep you on the ground? Much respect to everyone in the trade, proud to say my dad was an iron worker in Canada in the late 50s and early 60s.

Im concerned about the fact that he's that far up in the building and he removes his only security against falling to place it onto the next beam. if that were norway you'd have to have two. so when you move one you are still secured. and after you've moved the first one then you move the second one.

These guys in the video are connectors and they only put in one bolt to keep it safe, usually connecting beams you make two bolts but these joists aren’t heavy. Then there’s a gang called bolt up that follows after the connectors and and placed the right size bolts and tightens them to whatever it calls for, some times hand tight sometimes you snap them it all depends
