I filmed this at the NYC City Winery on April 5 2015. This is an UnsteadyCam Production. Robbie of course was the guitarist for The Doors. The evening was billed as "An Evening of The Doors' Greatest Hits". It was alternatively billed as "Robby Krieger of The Doors Playing 50 Years of Hits" (a misnomer because they only had a few years of hits!) Of course this is a cover of a tune recorded by THE DOORS, and written by all 4 members of The Doors

A fav Doors tune of mine that always seems to be overlooked in favor of L.A. Woman or The End. The Waiting for The sun album had that dangerous, weird, carnival-like feel The Doors are known for. My FAV group.

Grande Krieger.

One of the best old school guitar players. You can tell he was very classically trained on the guitar. I hope he gets his name in history. He is a amazing player! Thanks Robbie for all the greats! I love even some of the blues stuff. La women was a hit! People are strange is a all time favorite of mine. When the music's over, turn out the lights. It's not over for this fine gentleman.

Thanks for sharing! The Doors were a democracy, they agreed that all four would be given equal credit for the music, even when individual members did write a song, or most of it. Because they all created the music as a whole, not separately. But, over the years the public has given Jim most of the credit for writing the songs. Of course Robby did create the guitars parts for this song. So, is it a cover on Robby's part... i think not.

@@Vroomfondle1066 In the album yes it is granadinas or granaina, a free form of flamenco. In here he plays solea falsetta in the beginning. Solea is a 12 beat flamenco rhythm.. He is not playing very smoothy though. No golpes also. I respect him a lot but here the playing is not smooth at all

Solely because of Robby Kreiger my first expensive guitar was a Gibson SG with the PF-90 pickups and I was technically introduced to what flamenco/latin classical guitar music was even if the doors only incorporated a little bit of it it definitely made an impact on me! Robby was one of the coolest in the doors he just went with the flow similar to Manzarek and both understood what Jim was putting out which everything just fit perfectly together and the stars aligned the day Ray saw Jim at the beach and Jim sang Moonlight Drive to Ray! Very underrated group and unique to what everybody else was doing at that time they were definitely ahead of their time! And one of the only bands to defy Ed Sullivan on his own variety show lol even the Stones and Beatles censored their lyrics for his show but not Jim and the doors! lol much love and respect to my favorite 60’s band!

@@user-bt3tj6we7b coordination, concentration and timing get trickier as you get older. Spanish Caravan is way more challenging than the songs you mentioned, therefore it's only logical that he struggles more with it. Listen to the live version from Live In Europe (1968), he plays it very well
