I was lucky enough to have seen Robbie with his band at a now defunct venue in St. Louis called The Galaxy. They played a few Doors songs along with some originals. When he started playing Spanish Caravan my heart stopped for a moment and I was instantly transported elsewhere. I NEVER expected him to play it with all the more well known Doors songs available at his fingers. But damn; it was fucking magical.

Yes...this was excellent. Didn't realize what an accomplished Flamenco player Robby is. Very understated musician and composer!!!! The Doors were 4 excellent musicians...synergy between all of them ...and especially between Robby and Jim if you ever see videos of them live looking at each other for musical queues and inspiration.

I think Robby's diversity is an extra plus that boosts his accomplishments. Rock, flamenco, jazz, blues, classical. He has his own unique style.

How can anybody listening to this trainwreck pretend it sounds good? The musicians on the Doors records were studio muscians.
@The-F.R.E.E.-J. Жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Not the studio musicians part but maybe all those drugs have wrecked his skills because, I'm no musician and, even I can tell he chumped cord after cord after cord.

come on... I always loved the doors and love krieger for what he did for rock'n roll... but... flamenco and classical music need study and practice and he was incredibly sloppy here. When i sudied classical and spanish guitar, my teacher would have beaten my head with the guitar if I played like that. The musicians in the background must have felt cringey during that intro...
@unclematt31685 жыл бұрын
gosh I thought it was sloppy too - my eyes were scanning the over videos while he fumbled around to see if there was a better version.
