This scene is just scary and crazy. Denzel being in control and killing so quick like the assassin he is. Especially when he raises his hands up smiling at the gangster. We need more movies like this action films.

So you have a thug, that hasn't really faced anyone strong and extorts the weak. And then you have a highly trained assassin that has made it a job to kill highly trained assassins. Loved this movie so much

Denzel is perfect for this movie series. He seems to be calmer in each movie, but also gets more violent when he takes them out. He didn't threaten them. He prepared them and they were not ready.

Looking into their eyes from inches, the last thing they see as the light fades… the deliverer of the consequences of all their bad choices. Poetic.

This piece of the film here is a rollercoaster ride. I felt different kinds of chills watching this part. It makes you fearful of McCall’s somehow psychotic version yet you cheer for him giving those thugs the nightmare they deserve. McCall is the monster that can contain his monstrosity and just unleash it at will. What a ride this scene is.

I love how he talks about life being about timing followed by the subtle symbolism of the bells right before he kills all of them and doesn’t even look at his watch this time. “For whom the bell tolls.” As Robert proceeds to kill them and march on. Brilliant.

This is one of those rare times I wish they could have stretched this film another 15-20 minutes. There was so much more they could have done to this incredibly good storyline.

Dude...at 5:40 I literally gasped out loud. I did NOT expect the scene to go down like that at all. Wow. I can't remember the last time a film scene made me react this way. Damn.

Man, that eye to eye contact just before death, was freaky as hell. And just to think, there are real people in this world like "The Equalizer."

This movie showed a man that just wanted peace and could not get it. As you get older you just want peace and when it gets taken away things happen. Loved this movie.

There are definitely people like this . Highly skilled , focused and unforgiving . He’ll not even fear any emotion of anger . He just executed the move and instilled fear through that act .

I really love this scene. first two movies felt like Robert was just doing what's right, try to save people. even with his revenge arc in the second film. but this, the third movie make us feel like everything is personal. he was angry and the level of brutality was so off the charge. first two movies he seems like a hero, a savior but the third one he looks like a cold blooded killer.

This franchise is difficult to make not because they can't think of a good story to tell, this franchise is difficult to make because they have to create situations to make creative and interesting kills. And this franchise never disappoints!

Denzel is able to do such a terrifying character so well, absolutely love his character in 'Equalizer' and 'The Book of Eli' Polite, jovial, stern, and sociopathic all bleeding in and out of each with fantastically paced transitions, it's elegant and stressful at the same time. About the only other characters I can think of with such an intimidating presence where you're on edge anytime they're interacting with another person would be Anton Chigurh and Hans Landa with the only difference being that Denzel's character is this story's "hero".

I had a neighbor once who talked and acted just like Denzel Washington. Made me chuckle when hed get talking. His name was Kenny. My wife and I started referring to him as Kenzel because he was truly Denzel’s clone.

As much as Denzel Washington is phenomenal as always, but for me it was the bad guy actor's performance that made the tension in this scene real! I do not know who this young man is but he has done a great job with his performance against a giant like Denzel, and actually has done a way fantastic job as a bad guy than the actor who plays the older brother and the mob boss!

There is something very sinister about this scene. The way he descends from the darkness, kills the thugs in the most gruesome way and then vanishes back into the dark.

When you bring it to his front door, it's hard to not make it his business. Flaunting it in front of him like he wouldn't do anything. And at the end of it, they were the ones shitting their pants then turning tail. At the end of it they were the ones receiving the same punishment they dish out. The law of equivelant exchange

I love that Robert McCall is basically The Punisher without an actual superhero/vigilante suit, but he is for all intents and purposes a superhero vigilante.

What a good scene. And I really give it to that Italian actor for playing it like that and being deferential to Denzel to make the scene seem real like there’s animosity and he really doesn’t see the menace coming.

I just loved how much Denzel was portrayed as a force of nature. Some inhuman demon that tore through an entire gang in half a minute. I’m always a sucker for terrifying protagonists.

The first two movies showed a man trying to do right and “live” while struggling with the grief of losing his wife. Even in 2, even with revenge on his mind, he seemed to be mostly going through the motions of “living”. In here, you see him touch Death after getting shot. You see him accept he was going to die. He even tried to kill himself at the vineyard. But after Gio and Enzo save him, and the community open their doors to him, he found his purpose. And he finally went on a “date”, showing his healing from grief is finally coming to a head. That line “I’m where I’m supposed to be” isn’t just Enzo preaching Gospel, but a personal declaration that he’ll keep living and use what he has to protect this place of love and tranquility. I just wish we could see this side of him more. But seeing Denzel kicking ass is always fun. Addendum: this is the first time we see him eat dinner with someone, not just Enzo, but Aminah. We see him join the town for movie night, have fun with the kids and old granny. He's finally opened up to others, and not just one off them as a Lyft driver, or just keep it as "work buddies", or mentor someone. Also, isn't it weird to finally have him be a housemate, rather than a usual empty apartment we normally see him live in? Also, HE ALMOST FORGOT IS SPOON IN THE END! Mr. Neat and Tidy stood up, was walking away from the cafe, and Aminah reminds him of his spoon. To join in the town's celebration...

Robert McCall has to be one of the most complex characters i would have to say in all of film, that I’d ever seen. To be that compassionate, loving & protective of the common citizen, friend, colleague whatever & then to be that heartless & violent to bad people & feel nothing is a new phenomenon to me. It’s an extremely tricky role he’s playing. Very complex. Idk it’s so weird, he’s a good hearted, morally intact.. sociopath? Idk. Man these movies are good 👀. The violence is a bit much but they are so good

Never judge a book by its cover. I once saw a really weedy looking little guy level a 6 foot plus toughie throwing his weight around in two quick moves then calmly walk away like nothing ever happened. It stopped everyone dead in their tracks.

One of best action and assassination movies had in years! had all John Weak, all Rambo, all Diehard rewatch recently. but only this scene, this scene was something more than enjoyable, slow, chilling, short. the whole movie is awesome, while I thought, even at the end, the whole matter of Mafia thing even in the neighborhood is never going to end!

Equalizer 1 and 2 shows a retired McCall trying to step away from his former self,. But this 3rd movie,. Damn, we really got a glimpse of how cold and deadly he is.
