When we were 7th or 8th graders, I went to stay overnight at my Amish friend's house here in rural Arthur Illinois. Late at night we snuck out to an old implement shed, hooked his clandestine eight track player to an old tractor battery, and flew like eagles. I still love that old Steve Miller Band album, thanks for rekindling a great memory!

Hi Robert. I hadn't watched your YT channel in some time, probably watching too many videos on world news, and I'm so glad I'm here again, like a breath of fresh air after everything that is going around in the world, depressing to the max. Anyway, your Genesis favorite album segment really made the day, obviously everybody was expecting Foxtrot or TLLDOB or Nursery Cryme or SEBTP, and it was Genesis from 1983 your favorite, that was surprising and funny, because I really don't like any Genesis' albums without PG, but that's what makes your channel great and entertaining, there's always respect, you never put anyone down just for disagreeing, btw my favorite Genesis album is Foxtrot 😅. Nice to be here again watching your videos.

The trouble with Stairway to Heaven was that throughout my teens (when I was mostly into punk) it was always played in every pub that had Hard Rock juke box and then there was everyone of my hard rock loving friends that had the album. By the time I got to 28yo I was sick of hearing it. Even today, if it comes on the radio I find it a little hacky. But I still love the IV album as a whole.

As someone whose favorite album is usually not the band's biggest, I can tell you that we are the biggest freakin' dorks, haha. However, I will never belittle someone for what they like. I also love plenty of albums that are the band's biggest. Like I think Nevermind is Nirvana's best. I am not going to overthink that one. I also distinguish between "favorite" and "best." The best Rolling Stones album is Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, or Exile On Main St. But my personal favorite is the original UK Between The Buttons. Is it one of their best? Absolutely, but I cannot call it their best because it does not represent them well enough. And I will NEVER get sick of When The Levee Breaks. Not possible. I played the drums growing up. Obviously all the cool kids know Summer In Paradise is the greatest Beach Boys album... I think Radiohead makes fun of their own fans who like Creep, haha. Funny, my favorite Genesis is the Gabriel era, and I think Nursery Cryme-Foxtrot-Selling England By The Pound-Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is like one of the most perfect four-album runs ever. BUT I think the 1983 self-titled Genesis is fantastic. I love Mama. I love pissing off my brother with it. And Illegal Alien is so catchy it should be, well, illegal.
