Dear Bob, what is leaking is the accumulator valve body UE37583, quite cheap as an exchange part. The empty bracket in the engine bay is for the washer fluid bottle.

They're like derelict stately manor houses when they are neglected aren't they. No matter how effed they are you can still see the magnificence that they hold. Worth doing in my opinion, not financially maybe but they are so beautiful it's like an honour to bring them back to life. A labour of love and I think red is an amazing idea.

Great talk about priorities Bob! Agree 100%, have you hobby, have your passions, but do them within reason. My affordable dream car was a Lexus IS 350. It's a beautiful red called vermillion and it has the really light ivory interior and the real polished wood..but I ONLY bought it, after I paid my house off. Not just that, but my house was to my standard, not falling to bits. Nothing worse than a dump of a house with a flash car parked in front.

Dude life is short enjoy your hobbies, totally cool that you got the gonads to go through this adventure! I totally get you on this! Keep the fine work inspiring us to carry on. Maybe get a power washer and a floor sprayer for the undercarriage and do a hand car wash with care masking off the interior to keep it dry.

The windows don’t go completely up with the main window switch. They go up around 90% of the way. The last 10% is done by pressing the small little black button above the window switch. This was how they did it in the factory. Weird I know, but the factory thought that feature was a safety feature at the time. I used to own a few of these. Please fix the brakes. It will be expensive to do that. As you know it’s a high pressure system and leaks easily. The pistons in the calipers will most probably be rusted. Good luck

This is why I only want the Corniche ‘Coupe’ hardtop. The roof repair/mechanism will take up all your effort, and it still might not close properly. You might just leave it as a top down car and drive it on nice warm, non rainy days. I saw one Bob that the aftermarket roof put on and it would shrink in the cold weather, and thus not fully close. Good luck! PS- I’m a member of the RROC club and have seen many.

I'm so glad I found this channel, it's a hoot! One of your classic videos popped up on my computer. The gypsies throwing rocks at you because you were exposing their con! I about died laughing! I swear you remind me of this old friend of the family. He was a tool pusher in the oil fields in the early 1970's and built Pontiac's. Rochester company used to send him carburetors to fix he was that sharp! Anyway he pulled pranks on people all the time like these con artists and grifters. I'm enjoying the show....

Good on you. Im going to enjoy this rebuild just as I did with Gary Mavers and his Royce. Perhaps you can have Gary Mavers visit some time and help with bits and bobs when he is in the US. Keep the colour, wrap it if you must... don't paint it... its not a show pony... Clean it up, do basic repair work and send it down the road to the next owner...

There was no "strip down" Corniche! The only options were exterior/interior colors;therefore, this year Corniche did not have the wooden tray tables. The leak looks like it's from one of the brake valve bodies on top of one of the accumulators. Once removed, they are relatively easy to rebuild. If you purchased the car for under $20K, it was an awesone deal. If $24k-$28K, that's about right for it's condition!
@RobertMoseley5 ай бұрын

Honestly, the Cadillac was better than the Rolls in the early days, honestly, the Imperial might have been king. But the Cadillac has dropped in quality so much for so long that it hasn't been the king of luxury for a long time, the Rolls-Royce however never really lots it's luster.

Bob, you have to dry ice sandblast it under and motor compartment. A good wet sand and some body repair. A nice red wrap like you like it and I leave the wheels to you probably black to go with the nice red body. Maybe later make a nice white interior like you said, it would look so graceful. The heck that she’s not full equipped, like you said it’s paid and it’s yours. Myself, I would sell the one that JR drove because I think that the corniche is more glamor and people from today must not even remember JR anyway. But please keep that Corniche unless you find another one that’s worth it. But I think that cheap one’s are rare.

Job 1 clean the bottom of the car as best you can, then you'll see exactly what is leaking & what needs to be replaced/repaired. The big costs with these cars are the brakes & suspension, if you can sort those issues out, the rest is pretty easy.

Good morning Bob, my opinion, you own and drive the majestic phantom and the silver shadow and I remember you driving the caddilac convertible with leopard interior. Driving the caddy you said "it drives like a Rolls Royce" so keep it that way. The Cornish is a beautiful concept a peace of art in those days but my advise find a new owner for that RR project. Don't burn your hands on that project. But any how I follow your RR project with a big smile and can't wait for the next episode. Greetings, Martinus/ Amsterdam/ Holland.

The round black buttons on the door are safety switches. You press them once the window has reached the top of its travel and it will allow the window to close fully an extra inch.

As someone who tinkers with old RR’s most weekends, promise me you won’t skimp on the brakes. Take time to learn how the pressure spheres work. Learn to do a pump down test and don’t drive it until you have confidence that you have reserve pressure in the system. The thought of A 2.5 tonne missile with no brakes is terrifying.
