Maybe it's useful to say that when you fold the bike, you have to do the trick again to unlock the throttle after unfolding it again. Takes only a few seconds, after getting use to the 4 steps, as Robert mencioned: Throttle(1)/front brake(2)/back brake(3)/switch on the panel and wait 20 sec.(4). Then switch all off, before start to use it. Thanks for the great tips and for being so precise on your explanations, this can be complicated for some of us!

Being able to make "changes" is not always a "hack" it is also about safety for a youngster on their first e-bike. Throttle control from start can help with stability so safer when starting off.

Thank you sooo much for mentioning that last thing with the factory setting. I bought a brand new e scooter that used the s866 system and the scooter stoped working after 15 mins of use when i first got it. Then it never worked after that. The scooter would not acellerede. So the day before i was about the send the scooter back to the company i found this video. So i found the factory settings for the scooter and it finally worked after spending days trying to get this to ride agian 🙏🙏❤️

This works pretty much on any controller that looks like this at the beginning I thought it would not work for mine but I tried it and works perfectly with my ebike as well. Great info

Thanks for info about holding the brake levers in when powering up. I must have switched it on while holding the break this morning. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my throttle had suddenly stopped working overnight when I'd not touched the settings and it was working fine yesterday!

Missed recording the default settings before embarking on the programming then you mentioned it at the end! No worries I contacted ADO Customer Support and they sent me a list of them!

P1 -screen brightness P2 - km to miles P3 - battery voltage P4 auto sleep timer P5 no of asisst 0/1/2 P6 wheels diameter P7 no of magnets in the sensors P8 speed cap (limit) P9 none zero start P10 drive mode 0 ( no assist) 1 ( electric assist) 2 ( both) P11 the time( in seconds) that takes to let the motor kick in P12 acceleration strenght P13 sensor type P14 control Amp limit P15 volatge limit ( cuts out when its hitting the named voltage) P16 reset the speedometer/ odometer P17 cruise control P18 display adjustment P19 zero gear pedal powered or no pedal powered P20 comunicate with the controler

Reset the settings you go to P 19 and you hold the minus button for 20 seconds

I think I'd be more interested in electric propulsion if sodium ion batteries were used instead of lithium. There is so much sodium around and obtaining sodium is not ecologically destructive as is mining for lithium. Sodium can also be easily neutralised once the cycle life of the battery is over thus making them very easy to dispose of without the toxic hazards associated with lithium products.

Now this bike comes without a throttle (pre installed). With the international version, you get sent a rubbish thumb throttle (not a turner throttle like the ones you see on KZfaq). I was going to order this bike (ADO A20+), but not any more. I'm livid.

If you select P20, 0000, and press up/down and hold , the controller should reset to FACTORY SETTINGS. It looks like its rhe same controller as the PVY,Plus 1000, just a different LCD

I just got an ADO A20F and, following the instructions simply cannot get the throttle to work! 😞 Have managed the speed "hack" but the throttle refuses to work 😞 Have tried just about everything, watched the video a million times just to make sure I am not missing anything and still nothing 😞 Any further tips? It is an EU bike by the way.

Throttle activation has changed: Pull left brake and switch controller on and hold for 10 then hold the throttle and right brake for ten now switch off and on again. Assist level 3 and away you go. Also: in 0 Assist if you press - it will travel at a max of 4.2 mph cruise control.

I have an LCDH8 looks like the same settings, you should also be able to see average speed and maximum speed. Wait thirty seconds after turning on then press the power button.

Absolutely brilliantly explained, as always. Was just wondering if you would be able to expand on P18, 19 & 20 please? Other videos stated that P20 wasn't used, but mine has three settings 0, 1 & 2. Not knowing what ANY of them were for, I fiddled with each one in turn, and then regretted it, as my bike wouldn't work for hours - until I found a factory reset video. I got error codes E 08 & E 030 at different settings of P20. Don't know which setting got them to appear, or what I did to clear them, but they're gone now. Would be good to know what these three settings are for though. My bike is a Heybike Mars (I think - it looks identical to your A20), with an S866 controller. I bought this bike 5 months ago and happy with it, for the price it's worth it. It still needs regular maintenance and tightening every month or so. One thing to note is that it's easy to disable the "Throttle mode" if you turn it on while accidentally holding down one of the breaks or accelerator. This can be confusing especially since the console provides no indication. The battery will only last 30+ KM if you're using a lot of throttle mode only.

Thanks for detailed explanation. Have my a20f and I must say I am disappointed. Despite setting P12 to 0 which means acceleration strength set to min, the bike pulls strong each time making a ride far from smooth. I also increased number if gears to 5 and still even at 1st pulls strong making ride on crowded places tricky. Pity it is not torque sensor bike. Any ideas?

Please tell me you're going to try using this or some other off the shelf speed controller to power the magnetically assisted switched reluctance motor. I'm dying to see how much better it can perform while being cheaper than an off the shelf electric motor. You could try making the... stator? (The part that rotates and holds the metal bits that get attracted to the electromagnets) out of newspaper and casein glue composite for a cheaper/lighter? motor.

should try change the voltage settings and make a 12s or 13s battery pack for it, wouldn't fit in the frame but you could have it in a backpack. Take it out to a dirt path and see how fast it'll go under its own power

I'm interested in building a wheelchair based off of mountain bike hub motors. Ideally, it would be joystick driven. How do I go about getting the two motors to talk to each other and the joystick in such a way that they can interpolate say a diagonal input into the necessary speeds for each wheel. Is there a product on the market that would walk me through this? I don't have any coding abilities and I am not terribly skilled on a computer. I have no problem developing the mechanical platform. Is there a particular resource you can point me to?

Hey 👋 Sorry to inform but as of today 12/11/2022 the instructions given in your video to switch to throttle mode are incorrect, you need to: 1: Bike off 2: full throttle and front right brake lever (not both levers) 3: hold for 10 seconds (not 20) 4: and finished! Throttle is enabled This worked on my A20+ that I got yesterday.
