I have tears streaming down my face, I forgot how emotionally involved I was when robin hood was on :'(

This still makes me tear up. After all this time. I sobbed my heart out watching this for the first time- I could barely breathe. Robin Hood ended when she died- it was never the same without her.

Robin Hood is my favourite story of my childhood memories, but it always with me and I always love Robin Hood

I personally enjoyed it when she FINALLY said the truth to Giz. He needed to hear it and the moment she said those words, it was like a relief from her shoulders. You could see it in her face.

I still love this story. This is the best Robin Hood serie, what i've ever seen. I still love this and I still cry when i see this.

It was bad enough they killed off Marian--Robin's true love--but what completely ruined it for me is how they had to spit on her memory by having Robin fool around with 2 different women (neither nearly as strong or beautiful) in season 3!

This could all have been avoided if she didn't break his heart and stalled him for another 20 seconds. Robin would have shown up and he and Marian would have ended Guy. last time I watched this series I was 14 years old and I still rethink this senario in my head

This episode is so depressing to watch...but Jonas & Lucy really pulled the scenes off beautifully and the music just makes it that much more moving. Even though I hated the ending of season 2, I have to admit that...

How they can kill Marian is beyond belief because season 3, one word disgraceful!!!! Marian is the main chafe tee next to robin so they can't kill her

I agree! I cheered when Marian FINALLY told the truth to Guy, that she LOVES Robin Hood, that she wants to marry Robin Hood! And most importantly, that she'd rather "die" than be with Guy...I was so tired of all the Guy/Marian stuff. That I LOVED seeing her reveal her true heart, which belongs to Robin!

I just read a news article that said Lucy Griffiths is in Budapest with the rest of the crew. Google her name in recent news to see the article. This must mean she's filming series 3. So maybe there's hope Marian is still alive. A bigger hope would be that Guy didn't really stab her. Since their chemistry was the only reason I watched the show, I'd happily accept the "dream sequence" solution. Then maybe Guy could still pursue a path to redemption and we could still witness his passion for her.

i agree with what you said. Lucy wanted out and they had no choice. This is one of those timeless ships that is played by many actors and actesses. They should have just recast. I mean this was a happy show. Now look at it.

Well, apparently Gisborne stabs Marian out of passion when she declares that she loves Robin Hood and wants to marry him; Djac and Will get married in Jerusalem and stay there with Djac's uncle. So now the Merry Men have boiled down to Robin, Little John, Much and Alan A Dale (who changes his allegiance). But, good news: Lucy Griffiths has signed on for the 3rd series, so she'll be back.

I have been so bummed that we won't be getting these episodes till the end of the month and the DVD till the end of July. At least I've got KZfaq to satisfy me until then. I always cry with this one. We'll miss marian. I wish she could have stuck around for season 3.

This is a statement from the bbc website: "Lucy Griffiths has been on a fantastic journey with the show and is now exploring other opportunities. Her portrayal was romantic and feisty at the same time. She is certainly the Marian for this generation. In the future Robin may find a different love but no one will ever directly replace Marian."

As I always say, WHAT PASSED THROUGH HER MIND ? Gisborne had a sword, he was already quite upset, and even when he is not, he's quite dérangé, as we say in France. And she found nothing better to do than provoq him saying twice she loves Robin Hood !

There is no Robin Hood without Marian. I doubt I will be able to watch next season. The only way I will be able to is if they bring Marian back period

I have been reading about the series coming back this fall or next year, but the ENTIRE cast in back in the 3rd series, including Marion. They cannot kill her off, since she is apart of the legend. They are going to bring her back in some way.

i agree with you that viewing figures will go down. and i just read some sort of forum on the net where fans thought her death was some sort of ploy by the BBC and that Marian hadn't really died. we'll just have to see later this year. but i think i'll keep watching RH even without Marian around...there's still Richard Armitage to watch :-)

i cry every time at this ending! It's heartbreaking! At the beginning of series 3, jonas armstrong and the rest of the RH team got everything spot on in terms of life after Marian but in the most recent episode (episode 6), he kissed soemone else (I won't say who incase I spoil it for anyone) but it really got to me, especially when you know who the person is!

Awh that broke me heart! All of it so sad! The characters are just amazing to watch. (I really loved Robin and Marian even if Guy's love for her was never meant to be, I did at times feel sad for him. Of course stabbing her like that just kills it.)

I think there's a possibility of last minute renegotiations with Lucy before season 3 filming begins. The wholly unsatisfactory finale to season 2 with all the inconsistencies must mean the writers want to leave several story options available.

Yes, I read that too, but renegotiations can happen. If BBC stands to lose a large segment of its viewership because of this episode, they may want to sit down and talk with LG. As it stands, Her fans aren't happy. Guy's fans aren't happy. Robin's fans aren't happy. Not much left. No pun intended.

Mind you S2 hasn't even aired yet here, but I am already impatient for S3 to see if they could bring her back. I am just going to figure that it was a dream sequence and she is still alive. i read over on LJ that someone received a letter from lucy and in it she said it was NOT her decision to leave - if this is true i can't understand why they would want to get rid of her - very angry with BBC

I cried way more than I thought was going to. I wasn't even much of a shipper. It was just so sad! Poor Robin. 2 cents- I think it was quite daring to do this, and despite how much most people hate Marian's dying, I bet this will make the show more interesting. Robin could be not so perfect after this, which imo, would make the character more interesting. And I really hope Much and Robin will bond again after this. He can be his shoulder to lean on. That'd be nice.

Haha it's kind of lame how they got there. It was Robin's birthday and Much decided to have a suprise party in the barn so that the villagers could celebrate with them but one of the villagers sold them out to the Sheriff. This also made me cry. I just watched it yesterday. Part of me is excited that Marian stood up to Guy to save the King but then part of me is sad that she is gone. Although until I see the thrird series I refuse to believe that she is actually dead.

LOL i just heard on the radio from coming back from teakwondo in the car and it said in radio ones news that they r recording the 3 season but the dude who plays robin wants to leave in that season and since it siad they have also ploted out the story lines for season 4 it means they will have to do like the really old series and bring in a new person called robin

Marian pretty much never dies in the original myths, it's true - they don't all have happy endings though! It's pretty much always Robin not Marian who dies at the end in older versions though.

Probably those who suggested that Marian is secretly recuperating somewhere are right and she will return sometime next season. But, her final taunting words to Guy made her seem like a different, crueler Marian who had been lying to him all along. Destroying the chemistry with Guy is a huge loss to viewers.

I've looked for information - to see if Marian really dies - and in the official BBC web I saw this: Sat 8 March 19:55 Robin Hood Drama series giving a modern slant to the Robin Hood legend. King Richard returns to England. Marian faces marriage to Guy of Gisborne. Someone knows something about it?? Does this mean that Marian is alive?? or is just soemthing that they put all the time?

There is no justification for what Guy did. It's pure evil. The real chemistry and romance is between Robin and Marian. Robin and Marian love each other, they shine on screen together. I never saw anything between Guy/Marian at all...The real love story is Robin/Marian, always has been...always will be.
