Guy is just such a complex character. He has no family and the sherif has been the only father figure in his life. When he finds love he's not sure how to deal with it without following the sherif's teachings. I think he honestly loved Marian and Marian did love him or like him during some points in the series. If Guy had been given a different life before things would have been different.

She didn't have to say she loved robin in front of guy like that, that's basically just egging him on

Thank you so much for all the episode clips you have done - Guy and Marian really were the stars of series 2! I still get sad when I see this - and it's Guy I feel sad for. I only hope he finds real love in series 3...

I never liked how they portrayed Marian either. She was cold and manipulative, to both Guy and Robin.

i have a better ending in my head: m:"i would rather die than be with you, guy of gisborne. i'm going to marry robin hood. i lvoe robin hood. i love robin hood." g:"...well...i just have one thing to day to that..." m:"and what is that?" g:*drops his sword and kisses the living day lights out of her to change her mind.* m:*kisses him back - her mind is changed!* *robin walks in - potential season 3 cliff hanger!!!* i should seriously be a robin hood writer :-D

It is funny that I more sorry for Guy then I do Robin after Marian is killed. Guy also seems more upset.

That was a really stupid ending. I cannot believe they had Guy kill Marian! I really cannot believe the BBC killed her off. I do not UNDERSTAND... It is just... IT MAKES NO SENSE.

Yes, I loathe the writers and this ending. I can't go on watching if Guy is lost to redemption. Marian's last cruel words to him erased all the romance they had developed. All that was best about the series is gone. That said, I will miss your wonderful videos about Guy and Marian.

I know everyone hates Guy now but I just hate the writers... They pretty much destroyed everything that I watched the show for. The gorgeous Guy/Marian interaction. I really do not like this show anymore. They ruined everything for me. I never even considered Marian dying. Hope that it's some horrible dream that Robin is having and he's still tied up in the Holy Land.

i suppose marian broke guy's heart *emotionally* .. so he broke hers *literally* - with a sword - yet you can see all the *hurt* in both their eyes as it happens - it's kinda surreal...

It was her fault, she led him on for the whole series. Then bam! I don't love you, I never even liked you. She taunted him for no good reason, if she'd just taked to him for a minute the others would of arrived in time to save the king.

What did she have in her mind ? He had a sword, and he is.... well, he is quite... crazy, I don't know other english word... He is dérangé, as we say in France. And she provoqs him saying twice she loves Robin !

I don't think she purposefully taunted him from the way she was acting. She seemed in a daze when she was saying those words, as if she was just realizing it, or was so happy to finally say those words in public.

Then they should have hired you a long time ago to write that episode!! I like that idea!

It ruined the season 2 finale for me when i read he had said he had to disagree with the writers for killing off Marian, etc...reading THAT was a shocker coz i was still watching season 1! hmmmm...killing off a legend? ugh! those idiot writers!! but gotta admit that kind of ending is memorable for a series

First of all I have to thank you for posting this,I really enjoyed it.But it's hard to understand because there are so many gaps. She is going in so much circles with Guy and Robin. I don't understand why she will marry Robin after all. It'sreally confusing. And now she is killed by Guy. How dramatic (thumbs down)! And there should be a 3.Series! Without her? Boring. With her, because she wasn't really dead? Just dreaming? How rediculus! But after all, I really enjoyed watching it so far :)

Thanks very much for doing this but it is something I won't be watching again. Marian's death was unexpected, turning Guy back to bad was, but it does not mean I hate either plot line any the less.

Ah, but in these times of television these things do happen! :-) Do we actually see her lowered into the ground? Hmmm? It could all be a sham to "protect" Marian from Guy and the Sherriff. Or Guy may be in cahoots with Robin and his merry men to remove Marion from the Sherriff's evil plots! "It ain't over till its over!" :-)

I agree that the show is throwing away the depth and fascination of recent episodes. Her words to Guy in the season 2 finale made her seem manipulative, callous and two faced after the tender things she has said to him before. How could the writers possibly regain that lost richness and complexity now?

i totally agree with you... there is no robin hood without marian... and i'm sorry but i kind that hate guy right now! he never shouldn't have kill marian... not if he loves her...

this just killed everything, most of the people tuned in for Robin/Marian or Guy/Marian....what was the point of this? I'd like to see the writers give their best explanation ugh.... all I can think of is Lucy not being able to come back for season 3 for some reason.

Which they won't...at least hopefully they won't. I'd rather have Marian die a dignified death, than come back in some cheesy way with a new actress playing her. I'll miss her though, and I still think it sux that they killed her off. :(

Didn't look like a fatal wound to me. Way to her left side and she was moving. Character may be put "on ice" for a season?But even if she is truly gone I disagree that the complexity is undone - the complexity has just ratcheded up exponentially. The possibilities are endless and deadly now between Robin and Guy. Another woman?
