I took the handwheel off on top and cut off the shaft where where the hand wheel slid on to then installed a lock nut. Installed a disc on the bottom of the threaded rod for fine adjustment.

Elias Loozen I am still working on fixing this issue. I did shorten slightly the length of the threaded bolt on the saw fence “kip lock” lever, which helps a little, but is not yet a 100% fix. I had hoped by now to have bought a metal lathe to turn a new / replacement hand wheel with folding crank handle! Sadly I’ve been sidetracked somewhat, on other “projects” in the workshop. I did manage to locate and buy off “evilbay” a solid brass cylinder of 2 inch diameter and about 8 or 10 inches long, out of which hopefully a new handwheel can be made on a lathe! I also found a retired machinist who might be able to make the handwheel for me. Meanwhile the search for an affordable metal Lathe to make the handwheel continues, along with a myriad of other projects at the moment.

Managed to buy a lathe/mill combo yesterday so the solution gets another step closer! 👍
