Tundra Color Matched Door Handle Install!!

Installed my new color matched door handles on the Tundra today. The install was very easy and the new look is awesome. The chrome is almost gone!!

Just a tip for those of you doing this when you slide on your new handles pay close attention to the bracket that is in the inside of the door that the handles locks into. It will sometimes slide and when you go to screw in the end cap with that one hex bolt it will not align and you will spend a long time trying to figure out why. Well it happened to me so once the handle is on and before you put on the end cap take a screw driver and wedge the bracket back towards the side the end cap goes. That will align the screw to the end cap. Hope this all makes sense. Thanks.

I’m going through this right now, I thought it would be easy but the damn end cap is not aligning. I tried what you said still no luck, I’ll keep trying

It wasn’t too bad...I did have to work the back covers quite a bit to get them free. Very simple install though!!!!!😎

Wow very interesting i have to admit it looks so much better than the chrome i had to see it for myself. i think your motivating me to do some installs myself. however i'm sure that feeling will wear off quickly and i'll go back to the shop i use!

Thanks for the video Rob that looks great. I must say that I was a bit worried that the screw would fall out and wind up in the bottom of the door. Big improvement!

Thanks Dave. I had concerns about the screws myself, but they are held in and don’t come out. Had any of them fallen...it would have been an entirely different video!!!!!😎

looks so much better. in relation to door designation drivers door,drivers side rear door. pessenger side front door, passenger side rear door.

Take your time and adjust the angle a bit. It does fit and you must be off a tad👍

Rob, do you have part numbers for the handles. I have a 2018 Cement Double Cab and just need the front door handles, driver side has key hole. Royal South Toyota told me Toyota doesn’t make those handles in Cement….hmmm?

You do a good job on step buy step instructions. I do think line x on the steps would look good. They are the safest steps I've seen. It's fun too see the truck come together. I enjoyed building my truck but the $$$$$$.

This seems simple. Someone hit my driver door handle at a parking lot and scratched the hell out of it. I will be replacing it soon. Cools video! I will assume it’s the same for the sequoia!

Ordered the same thing for my 2019 Pro but haven’t got the chance to pop them in... do you all know if they also offer the color match for the tailgate handle along with the rear camera holder ??? Thanks guys ... BTW... these videos help tremendously... keep it up

I’d be curious to see if there are different steps with the smart entry handles on newer models. Does your 2020 limited have those? I’m hoping to get a newer limited soon and want to do this as well.

I was worried about that screw falling inside the door. I will say the color door handles look very very sharp. That was an easy install. Some door handles you have to take half the door apart.

Now that I know it’s that easy, I’m going to do that myself to my 2018 Tundra Crew Max Limited in Cement Grey but I’m going to go the all black version I think instead?

@@RobMotive I’m pretty sure they would. The first mod I did when I bought the truck back in October was the black Tundra inlays in the tailgate and it looks sharp. I’m thinking black door handles with the cement color mirror covers too? I just ordered the black inlay covers for all the chrome badging also.

Hey Rob hope you and the Fam are doing well with all this corona V issue, just have a quick question and its that I saw you have installed the door edge protectors on this Tundra, I ordered these same ones, OEMs , for mine but are a little pain in the neck to install, so there they are in my garage , is there any tip you can share w/ me so I can install mine, thanks ahead, Jose

Hey Jose. I hope the same for you and your family. Those edge guards came installed on the truck. I’ve never installed them myself. That said, I’d install them when it’s warm outside or in the sun. Might even try a hair dryer to heat up the surfaces just a bit. Seems to me that if they were more flexible it would help. Just a thought 🤔

Rob, I'm having trouble sliding sliding the handle in and keeping it latched to the lever that activates the door latch internally. Any tips from you or anyone?

I got them installed. Some were easier than others depending how close the latch mechanism is to the metal door on the inside. The tighter the better. Thanks for the video!

@@RobMotive there is. On the 2020 model. SR 5. That’s for hand touch lock and unlock feature. If you are selling the handle. Better provide another video that shows how to disconnect the wiring.
