Reminds me of a scene in the comic where OCP had told the fire department that they couldnt put a fire down because the neighborhood hadnt payed their taxes. Then Murphy just bustout like the Kool aid man and took a truck to put out the fire himself, best part was that the firefighters just walked all over the spokesman and followed Murphy without a second thought.

I do appreciate what they went for at the end, where the first one he was accepting his humanity and discarding himself as merely a robot or cyborg, but by the 3rd he's come to terms with the latter as well, accepting he's both Murphy but also Robocop.

@prinstyrio0 no one ever mentions this. That’s exactly what they went for in this movie. He finally accepts himself as both Murphy AND Robocop. It may not have resonated as much as the first film did. But, for fans of the character as a whole, it competes his character arc-and justifies why he acts like more of a robot in this film than in the others.

Man can anyone imagine what it would have been like if the guys who rebuilt Murphy into Robocop in the first movie had done a better job wiping his memories and he was completely under they're control Robocop would have been working with the R.E.H.A.B. team instead of fighting alongside the Detroit Police Department so in a lot of ways the Police and the citizens of old Detroit were extremely lucky that Mortan and his team had done a lousy job of wiping Murphy's memories when they started coming back when those technicians saw them appear on the monitors and thought he was having a dream when infact it was his memories coming back and that it was Anne Lewis who helped out more when she saw him twirl his gun at the shooting range just like the fictional character T.J. Laser.

Man wouldn't it be neat to see a Marvel Universe version of Robocop I mean they should considering the character was also created by Marvel Comics.

Despite being cheesy, this movie had a lot going for it compared to the second film, it had a better story with more heart and emotional depth, a better villain, more interesting secondary villain with the Japanese ninja androids, better supporting characters, more impactful story development with Lewis dying, RoboCop being connected offline to a computer while repaired, getting a physical upgrade with the gun and the jetpack (as cheesy as the jetpack was), the OCP buyout by a zaibatsu and Detroit PD finally rebelling. It needed a bigger budget and a rewrite and IMO would be better if not all the cops were heroic because pro-police rhetoric really hasn't aged well, we all the know grim truth there.

Nah it was the super weird Robo Ninja's from Japan. honestly the movie wasn't even that bad until the weird Katsumoto Porcelain faced ninja androids.

The tv series and prime directives tv movies were worse in my opinion

@@Spock4771 Prime Directives had it's moments. But it was also basically 2 movies worth of content. I'd say it's equal to Robocop 3 as far as benefit or damage to the 'brand', but the Series was just schlock for kids to sell toys for sure.

@@Alconium Now I'm really curious if that TV show was some people's first exposure to Robocop, and how much of a shock it'd be for them to see the original, more violent movies afterwards.
