Watch the video for a full list of all the features and we'll explain how they actually apply in your own home. Plus, we have done deep-cleaning tests of the suction and mopping, so you can see how it compares to other options on the market.

@@RobomateTV Hello! The problem is not actually in the dialect. I understand it quite well, but more than often I watch these videos at work or in a loud environment, where I can't use the right sound volume, so I have to rely on subtitles. And as the automatically generated subs are generated on the fly, they are quite difficult to read. The words appear one by one, unlike ordinary subs, that are shown all together at the same moment.

Thanks for the review! A fundamental problem I have about these kinds of devices is their consumables. Are they reasonably priced? Will the company provide the same model of consumables, once the model you have bought has been deprecated? If the consumables cannot be purchased as original, are there generic substitutes available?

You were so kind and quick to answer my previous question, so I take this opportunity to ask another one, waiting for the Roborock S7 to get home ... If I memorize the floor plan of the house, and then I move the charging station to another room on the same floor, is something happening? Or is the Roborock indifferent to the position of the charging station?
@RobomateTV
@RobomateTV 2 жыл бұрын
Once you’ve made a plan it’s best not to move the base on the same level. It does matter for the base location. If you want to clean down the far end of the house it’s best to send it there through the app instead of carrying it. It should locate based on the shape of the room/furniture anyway, but it’s best practice this way. Hope this helps. :)

If it is under 2cm high then it is likely the robot will just clean over the top of it. They aren’t super common in NZ so I’m not 100% sure - maybe someone else can help here. Regardless though, if you didn’t want it to go over it you could set up no go zones around it.

@RobomateTV

That's a super tough one, normally with kids and toys on the floor, the object avoidance on the T9 is a bit of a lifesaver though. It's all about picking the right one for your environment - you will have to carry the mop between spaces but it's better to have to do that than forever clear toys out of the brush.

Hello from Greece, my friend. Can i ask you something? i am owner of roborock e5 and i am satisfied but it has no maps at the application. So, i cannot give orders for no go zones or rooms and i cannot name my rooms. I think that roborock e5 has not this option. Do you know if there is another application that helps about mapping or if there will be an update for fixing this problem?
@RobomateTV
@RobomateTV 2 жыл бұрын
I have never used the E5, however as it is gyroscopic navigating it is very unlikely that those smart mapping features will come in a future update. Robots without either LiDAR or vSLAM lack the navigational accuracy to be confident in things like no go zones. If that's important to you, look out for a LiDAR robot next time you upgrade

The one exceptionally annoying thing about this robot: it *requires* wifi. I moved into a new home 2 months ago and no internet company has yet been able to lay down internet in any kind of way. The only way I can be in the internet is through a phone hotspot. But I can't select the phone's hotspot from the the wifi list on the phone's app, which means of course that the vacuum has no internet and most of the really nice features don't work

I believe deebot robot washes its own mop which is a big plus
@RobomateTV
@RobomateTV 2 жыл бұрын
The Ecovacs Deebot N9 model does wash its own mop. Unfortunately that isn't available outside of Asia (as far as I'm aware) and probably never will be in many markets. The reason I have heard is that Asian homes typically have a lot of hard-floors so the mop feature is more important, whereas many other countries have more carpet so the auto-empty function on the N8 is more desirable.

I'm thinking about buying a Robot Vacuum Cleaner but just wondering. We usually have some Socks and other Clothes and stuff on the floor because our Dog likes to carry them around. My Wife is also waiting for a Baby so that may also add some more stuff and Toys on the floor in the near future. So how does this Robot handle these kind of Soft Objects? Or does this just mean that if I want a Robot Vacuum Cleaner I just have to use it manually every time to make sure it won't eat all our Socks in the process :D
@RobomateTV
@RobomateTV 2 жыл бұрын
The S7 will eat any cables or socks… but it will get caught in the brush and not make it into the dust bin so it’s nice and easy to clear. You could consider something with object avoidance but know that it’s never 100% so if there’s lots of socks etc it will still get stuck.
@pohjarummuttaja
@pohjarummuttaja 2 жыл бұрын
@@RobomateTV Thank you for the answer. So there's still some way to go until Robots are good enough for every situation possible. But now when I think about this, maybe the fact that a Robot Vacuum Cleaner is still not going to be able to avoid every possible object keeps us humans more motivated to keep the floor empty(er)?
@Animefreak353
@Animefreak353 2 жыл бұрын
@@pohjarummuttaja There are robot vacuums with object avoidance. For example the Roborock S7 MaxV. It has a camera and can detect objects like cables and socks with the camera and avoid them. I would still recommend to not store your socks and stuff on the floor. Obviously if it avoids the part of the floor where for example the sock is it won't clean that spot, because the sock is there.

Do you have stuff on the ground often, clumps (specifically clumps not just shedding) of pet hair, or a pet that regularly deposits gifts on the carpet? -> T9 If you don't have those things, then the convenience factor of the mop raising is awesome. Ah, well let me tell you about it instead... Are you talking about human or pet hair? I often find that the long hair test is a little bit confusing actually (as are a lot of the tests, which is why we try to put comments to explain what it actually means). On human hair: It'll do a good job, almost as good as any, however because the brush won't get as tangled, it also won't be quite as good at picking up. On pet hair: It does well on most, however I've heard of it not doing as well in a specific situation - long haired cats on long carpet. If you don't have that, then it'll likely be close enough to its bristled competitors without the inconvenience of getting tangled all the time. Hope this helps :)

Yeah it's not that great. Mine drags the dirty ass mop pad over the edges of my rugs all the time, especially when the wheels straddle the edge. You have to spend time optimizing "no mop" zones and virtual walls to make it usable. The sensors are not good at learning the actual edges of a rug -- it's all realtime sensor data so it makes plenty of mistakes

We didn’t actually test the max area - it is advertised at 3,200ft2 max. I have personally spoken to people who have used them in homes around this size too. It may differ if you have really thick carpet, more mopping areas or complicated furniture layouts. In a large home placing the base centrally can help too. In terms of reviews, it seems that Roborock have a super passionate following, many of them which are definitely genuine. I’m a member of quite a few different robot vac owner Facebook pages and forums and most Roborock customers are happy.
