When I was young lego were toys for children, nothing automatic... It is incredible to see how it evolved! I am always amazed when I see what we do with those now.

I like the color choices. It totally looks like heavy industrial equipment. And of course, as a technical achievement it's pretty freaking cool.

Could be awesome if you were to automate the timing of the switches a little more closely. It would make it walk a lot more fluidly. For example as the front pair of legs are lifting, immediately send them forward, so they lift and go forward at the same time. Or even lift and drop and go forward in one movement. So rather than being up, across, down, they move in a sort of curve. Cool model though for sure

Wow, what a smooth working model. It's a bit slow and probably not taking corners, but even then its great to see it walking.

I can see this being a real world design for moving something VERY large and VERY heavy

Great! One suggestion: Motorize the controller you're holding. That way it'll walk automatically as the motor sequences everything you're currently doing by hand.

The vehicle is perfect for grandparents as it is slower than a snail.

Actually, it can be very easy to make it turn! Only need a slight change in the center part: or either a rotation point on the driver spot, or if you want to keep the linerar motion of the legs, make the center ones move idependently and kind of "skid steer". Nevertheless, nice project and perfect execution!

This method of traversing would be a fantastic pitch to any space agency interested in interplanetary exploratory robots. No wheels could make for smaller machines (less cost), no wheels also means that the science platform would be very stable and lastly, the adjustable height would make for some fantastic close up shots of the surface using a camera mounted underneath. I've maybe thought way too much about this, but I think it's brilliant. The only thing that seems to be missing, is the ability to change direction.

now just add a few decorative turrets and maybe change up the colorscheme and you've got a fully functional war machine!

let's not forget the fact that there will be several obstacles in the way such as rocks and trees which it will have to navigate around so it's safe to say this thing can make it around the world in about 560 years

break the body in half, put two cylinders in the middle so you can pivot the robot. Otherwise it can only move forwards and backwards.
