In this video, I walk through the installation of my newly purchased rock sliders on my 2020 4Runner TRD Pro.

Nice rig. ! Think I may put some duct tape on top of my jackstand to avoid scratching sliders when i eventually need to do this. I know they will get dinged eventually anyway. thank you for video.

Firstly, nice truck. I have the same 2020 MGM Trd Pro with Ridge Grapplers...etc. I installed Greenlane "sliders" primarily d/t the aluminum construction given the use of salt here in the winter months. I worry about salt/brine creeping between the slider mounting plate and the truck frame thereby causing rust. My plan is to remove the sliders annually and inspect plus spray additional Krown rust proofing which hopefully keeps rust at bay. I enjoy your videos...you seem thoughtful and considered in your approach as such I'm interested as to your view on the potential rust issue.

Thanks for your comments. Glad to hear from another MGM owner. I live in the salt belt too. I also have a 1998 4Runner that I bought way back in 2000. I really have neglected that frame, but it is still in really good shape. I cleaned up the back 3rd of the frame a couple of years ago, but have never used fluid film or NH Oil to protect it. However, I will be getting it treated this fall. I will also be treating the frame of my 2020 going forward too each fall. Not sure if I’ll take the sliders off each year when I have it done though. Maybe something I do every couple of years. To tell you the truth, I’ve never heard of aluminum sliders. Are they rated to hold up to the rigors of off roading?

@@theoverlanded The manufacturer (Greenlane Offroad located in British Columbia, CDA) advises not to be used as a high lift jack point so while protection is provided they are not really pure off road sliders. For me it's more a clearance issue/rocker/door protection as I am not a rock crawler. Greenlane manufacturers many Toyota/Jeep products including roof racks. I've considered replacing the Trd Pro roof basket with theirs but your (and others) video of the removal intimates me.

I looked up Greenlane after I saw your post. They look like a good option for what you are after, plus they weigh less. The OEM rack removal was definitely a stressor. But as you likely saw in my video, replacing the anchor under the headliner wasn’t all that bad, if it did come to that for you like it did for me.

What paint code have your trd ? Magnetic gray I suppose

Yes, it is metal gray metallic (MGM).

Can you tell me what options you used. Trying m g to get a set now. Did you get their bedliner or you powder coated?
