I personally like the slowed down beginning. It’s like the show realization he’ll be okay.

I love how you can tell Taron Egerton is barely containing his excitement throughout this. It's like he's ticked off a bucket list item, he's so happy.

How this man did not get nominated for an Oscar is beyond me

It was criminal that Taron didn't receive at least an Oscar nomination as Elton John. Especially when you consider that he received nominations from BAFTA and SAG and won a Golden Globe, as well as a Satellite. He nails Elton's phrasing on the songs, sings them beautifully and perfectly, and also Elton's performance facial expressions, his walk and his run, and all along he's convincingly dramatic and authentically comedic

The fact Taron sang *”Still Standing”* in SING! then Rocketman 👏 *BRAVO!* 👏

During the entire movie, I thought they would end with candle in the wind. Then he started singing this and I immediately burst out in tears. Some people don’t like musicals, but what I took from this is that he was searching for love and validation from everyone. He just really needed to love HIMSELF.

How in the world Taron didn’t even get an Academy Award nomination for “Best Actor” will always be a mystery… I also think this is absolutely the best “biopic” movie based on a singer, I like how surprisingly mature it is

I don't think enough people really understand how incredible Egerton was in that film. It arrived after all the "Bohemian Rhapsody" hype and almost immediately disappeared in the wake of that and it's a damn shame because Egerton really deserved more recognition for his performance.

This song hits hard after watching the heartbreak and pain he went through for so many years. This movie gave me new respect for Elton and the guy who plays him in the movie. Elton is one of the hardest roles to play because he's a real person, who dealt with serious struggles. Trying to portray that is difficult. He had to be Elton while not completely being Elton... When I first watched Rocketman, I cried like crazy and then when this scene came up, and the music started, my heart skipped a beat. Such a powerful song with a powerful message. This movie definitely should get more awards!

Very sad that he Will fight against great actors at the Oscar like Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Bale, and the other potential names. He's great here, even more than Rami Malek last year

Finally got round to watching Rocketman last night and very touched by some of it. Always had so much respect for Elton John. This is a great scene.

egerton's performance in this scene is incredible he captures both the showmanship of elton the performer and the humanity of elton the person: the pain of the past, the hope of the future, and the power of the present. Bravo!

One of the most electrifying performances in recent memory. Embodiment of Elton, the look and feel and even the sound. This climatic scene is such an emotional powerhouse.
